We are a Canadian company offering "Hair 2 Toe", all-natural, handcrafted skincare and wellness products. Along with our product line, Nature IS Health aims to inspire. "Our Guide to a Sustainable Home", through our blog, social media and eventually, a book!

NIH products aim to connect you with the Canadian environment, particularly Southern Ontario. Our goal is to replace lengthy product ingredient lists with straightforward plant and animal ingredients—many of which you can cultivate in your own backyard, just like we do!

We prioritize Canadian ingredients, local farms and small producers. The fair-trade and organic industry is important to us!

>We grow and wildcraft as many herbal ingredients as possible.
> Product packaging is recycleable and ideally re-useable.
> The NIH product line began with herbal infused oils and pasture raised tallow and lard soap. In our community, our soaps are recognizable by our muffin cup shape!

If you have any inquiries or are interested in collaborating, we would be delighted to hear from you!

Here's how we take a multivitamin superfood ☆ Beef Liver ☆ in a spoonful- versus buying $$ supplements.

Sometimes I encapsulate it, but been taking by the spoon to save time.

Liver is very energizing and a source of bioavailable vitamins, including common deficiencies like B12, iron, folate and vitamin A retinol.

It's very concentrated, so it's awesome so only need a little amount.

We started this routine, adding organ meat into our diet years ago and swear by it! Can't recommend enough! 😄

At this point in the winter I am pretty tired of the produce by now, we have been living off our homemade ferments and potatoes.

Our lifestyles aren't conducive to hibernating and just sleeping around eating stew all day waiting for spring, the grind must continue!

So we reach for foods that are less natural to our environment- fruits and veg that are shipped to us from around the world. But it doesn't taste right? That picked before it was ripe kind of-lack-there-of flavour and shift in texture.

By March is when I get my "winter blues". My body is yearning for that first few picks of nettle or that first ripened berry on the vine. I'm a naturally impatient person, and when the birds kick it up a notch and I can feel the shift in air, sun..

I have to reset my brain, tell it to settle down and problem solve with the next best thing- homemade sprouts! 😁

Tis a good day when these marshmallows are in the fridge. Bonus- soft and kid friendly. We make ours with a real herbal infusion and sweetened with maple syrup. Bonus, bonus- gelatin is cheaper than those collagen supplements!

¤ infuse 1-2 tbsp of marshmallow root in 1 cup of previously boiled water overnight

¤ next day, strain half into pot on the stove with 1 cup maple syrup. Simmer 5-8 mins. Add vanilla or extract of choice.

¤ while the stove simmers, strain the other half into a bowl and sprinkle with 1-2 tbsp of gelatin, to 'bloom' / rehydrate it.

¤ now combine the 2 in a mixer. Mix on low to medium and higher as it thickens. Should take about 10 minutes. Use a splash guard or towel.

¤ pour into a tray that is lined with parchment paper or dusted with powdered sugar, corn starch or arrowroot powder to prevent stick.

¤ allow to set in the fridge! Then enjoy :)

Try in the all so trendy- bone broth hot chocolate?

If you arent into the savory yogurt sides- IT'S TIME.

I'm not talking about those store-bought yogurt dips and sauces that have been pasteurized.. try making it fresh to get both flavour and probiotic benefit.

We homemake our yogurt, which is also a game changer! Either way we stock the fridge with plain whole milk yogurt because it is versatile to go sweet or savory.

Especially in the winter when we are eating heavier, denser meals, a yogurt side lightens it up and provides much needed digestive power!

Common yogurt recipes we fancy recipes for: tzatziki from Greece, labneh from the Middle East and Indian raita - have you tried any of these???

I have been taking algae tablets for about 5 years. We switch between chlorella and spirulina tabs.

Such an easy supplement to fill in gaps and support detoxification. I opt for this over a pill filled with synthetic nutrients, any day!

Some key reasons why we take algae:

▪︎ The natural nutrient profile is complete- contains a full spectrum of amino acids, omega, minerals and vitamins - its like a natural multivitamin

▪︎ Source of iodine - a nutrient important for a robust metabolism.

▪︎ Specifically chlorella aids in heavy metal detox- get cracked cell wall type to ensure the body is able to assimilate nutrients to do this!

▪︎ Sustainably produced - does not contribute to overfishing, marine pollution or contain contaminants commonly found in today's sea products like mercury and microplastics

Above all, algae is not expensive and easy to take. We have it in powder form in some superfood blends, but these tabs are so convienient! foods
