Posture is an important part of my Initial Intake with patients.
Many of us sit for long periods of time, on the computer, relaxing on the couch, looking at her cell phone or sitting with a wallet in your back pocket. All of these things can effect our posture and lead to pain in an area of our body.
I like to assess people's posture and make subtle adjustments or changes to help alleviate stress, pain and muscle tension.
Sometimes the subtle adjustments are done with acupuncture, others with soft tissue mobilization of the muscle, and other times with physical adjustments like a chiropractic adjustment.
Not only does physical posture play a role in this, but stress, sleep, nutrition, hormones and our choice in footwear or backpacks/purses
