Hardest poses are not the best poses.
If your goal is to feel better, the key is working on the poses that are most optimal for growth.

If your job requires you to be in one position or do repetitive movements all day, what you need is to work on poses that can help you open up the tightened body first. If the body is tight and you go for the hard poses, that’s recipe for injury. You’ll keep going through the same cycle of short term growth, injury, and losing that growth during recovery.

There are always refinements to be made in the basic poses. Then occasionally you can tread into the hard poses carefully. This way you’ll find long term growth, and consistently feel better.

Age doesn’t deplete your energy. It’s the accumulation of spending more than you deposit. You can reverse this by going other way around.

One of the reason I choose yoga to maintain my body is because it place your body in the most variety of ranges and angles.
Different range of positions makes you become aware of different parts of the body, allowing you to uncover more imbalances that may be hidden deep inside your body.
Being in different angles (orientation to gravity) improves internal physiology, such as maintaining inner ear balancing function and improved blood and lymphatic fluid flow towards the upper extremities and head.
With one session of yoga practice, you can work your body inside and out!

Fluctuations in life are constant. What we can do to create more stability is to develop greater awareness. The sooner you can notice you are going off course, the less you will drift in the wrong direction, the more stable you become.

To develop awareness is simple - practice to think less and observe more. It’s like muscles, the more you work on it, the stronger it gets.

Begin with reducing these activities that drain your energy, and you’ll find it easier to start doing what you want to do.
