Entering my pleasure era✨

As a young girl, I found solace and joy in the uninhibited expression of dance. However, as I grew older, societal pressures and self-doubt began to dim my natural inclination towards movement.

Yoga became a sanctuary, a place where I could rediscover my body and reconnect with my authentic self. The practice offered a safe space to explore my physical and emotional landscape, to release tension, and to cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness.

In recent years, I've embarked on a journey towards a more embodied and pleasure-oriented practice. I've begun to weave dance and yoga together, creating a fluid and expressive movement practice that honors my body's innate wisdom. By tuning into my body's sensations and desires, I've been able to cultivate a deeper sense of joy, peace, and well-being.

Yoga has become more than just a physical practice for me; it's a spiritual journey that has transformed my relationship with my body. It's a reminder that my body is a temple, a sacred vessel worthy of love, respect, and care.

It’s ok if you don’t love being pregnant.

It’s ok if you don’t feel the glow.

It’s ok if you don’t feel connected to the babe growing within your body or the life that will meet you on the other side.

It’s ok. It’s going to be ok and your feelings are valid and real.

Pregnancy is the doorway into one of the biggest life shifts you will ever experience. It’s the beginning of a beginning that will last forever.

It’s unreasonable to expect women to be 100% on board and over the moon about an experience that will undoubtedly transform their relationship with themselves, their career and their greater community. The expectation that women shouldn’t experience a multitude of emotions towards pregnancy is unsupportive and unrealistic. Creating space for women to be witnessed through a myriad of reactions and expressions is paramount in supporting the whole of who the mother is.

All feelings are welcome. All realities are possible.

No other time in life are humans expected to be purely overjoyed about an event that will greatly challenge and disrupt their current state of life.

It’s ok to feel unsure, wary and cautious about how this new change will affect other parts of your life. Most likely parts that you have worked hard to create/ stabilize/ overcome/ prioritize in your life. Whether it’s creating a business empire, solidifying an awesome workout regime, prioritizing travel or living a nomadic lifestyle. These things matter to you and it’s fair to feel grief around letting these aspects go or re-working them to fit a babe into your life.

Feelings of doubt, guilt, shame and even regret are warranted responses to a life event that will in evidently shift the way you live your life, relate to your partner, engage with your community and connect to your body. It’s a big deal!

It's ok, if you don't love being pregnant.

It absolutely does not mean that you won't be a wonderful, caring, nurturing mother. It is simply a response to the very real, very challenging and very confronting shifts that come along with growing a human being.

Hi, I’m Megan.

The Okanagan has my heart. Having lived here for nearly my entire life, I have a deep appreciation + love for this land. My days change with the seasons; however, there are a few constant passions in my life. I am a lover of learning, constantly devouring knowledge through podcasts, blogs, traditional + audio books. I’m a lover of memoirs, forever interested in how others live out their days in this wild world. I appreciate all things cozy, including warm mugs of tea, handknit blankets + wood burning stoves. Most of my days include bits of nature, poetry, connection, movement, music, self-exploration + snacks.

Yoga found me when I needed it most. Beginning my journey in 2007 during a time of stress + trauma. I didn’t know much about the practice, all I knew was how I felt after class. The effects of yoga on my body + mind were exactly what I needed to heal and grow. Slowly throughout the years Yoga proved to be a vital and important part of my life. In 2011 I embarked on my own yoga adventure, completing my 300 hour yoga teacher training.

In 2015 I was blessed with my greatest gift, my son Cameron. My transition into motherhood was beautiful + challenging. The birth of my son and my entrance into motherhood ignited my passion to learn more about prenatal and postnatal health + movement. Mandala Mamas is an expression of who I am and what I wish to offer the world. My intention is to gently guide mamas to strengthen + develop their own inner wisdom and power. As well as, to offer an accepting space for mamas to connect and build community.
