Our team will be taking part in Su***de Prevention Education with the Waterloo Region Su***de Prevention Council and the Waterloo Public Library.

Tonight's session will provide a general overview of youth mental health and su***de prevention, including recognizing invitation for help in youth, tips for having caring conversations, and how to access resources and supports within the community.

Do you have thoughts of Su***de? Skills for Safer Living Youth and Caregiver Intervention Groups are starting this fall in downtown Kitchener.

This 6-week group supports youth ages 14–16 who struggle with thoughts of su***de and is facilitated with support from OK2BME - Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health.

A parallel caregiver group runs at the same time, offering education and support.

🕑Groups will take place on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 PM starting October 29 to December 3.

Topics for the group include:

✔ Keeping Safe
✔ Problem-solving
✔ Relationships
✔ Understanding Emotions

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day, a global advocacy and awareness day which aims to reduce stigma about su***de, encourage action, and promote the possibility of hope, help, and healing.

Each year, our World Su***de Prevention Day event provides an opportunity to access information about local services and resources, to connect with others, and to be with community. Today, we'll be gathering at the Kitchener Public Library from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, and we hope to see you there. 💙

💡 Instead of “I can’t do this” replace with “I am going to do my best!”
💡Rather than “I am going to fail” replace with, “I’ve got this!”
