We were so saddened to hear this horrible news about G*i. She was a style icon in our industry and will be missed tremendously. Our thoughts and most sincere condolences are with her family, friends and her L.A. Eyeworks family. RIP.
It is with heavy hearts we announce that G*i Gherardi passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16th, in Los Angeles, with her life partner of 50 years, Rhonda Saboff, and her sister, Heather Gherardi, by her side.
G*i brought immeasurable gifts to this world, and she shared them generously with all of us. The sparkling trails of inspiring optimism, spontaneous love, and exuberant color she left wherever she went are now ours to follow and treasure.
G*i was always delighted to be on the path of discovery, whether it was through her design work, her abiding love and reverence for artists and musicians, or the wide, inviting table she and Barbara McReynolds set for the wide world with l.a.Eyeworks.
G*i’s unique, indelible, and unforgettable manifestation of herself was a mirror in which each of us could find permission to reveal new layers of our own selves — and the bravery to be fearless in doing so. She would want nothing more than for each of us to continue acting upon that encouragement.
