💜 Overdose Awareness Day 💜

We’re incredibly proud of our staff who helped mark this important day in both Brockville and Kingston.

🕊️ In Brockville, our amazing nurse Cara Westgate created a touching memorial display with contributions from our patients — a beautiful way to honour and remember loved ones. Cara also brought smiles and conversations with her creative Naloxone costume, which definitely caught the community’s attention!

💜 In Kingston, staff members Kaitlyn and Alexis joined Dr. Patterson to show off their new swag, representing our ongoing commitment to harm reduction and community care.

A heartfelt thank you to all our staff for their compassion, creativity, and dedication. You truly make a difference every single day. 💜

Today is the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

This year’s theme - "Break the cycle. " - highlights the need for long-term, coordinated action to address the root causes of substance use and drug trafficking.

At CATC, we’re proud to support people on their recovery journey and advocate for stronger, more compassionate systems of care.

Today on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we honour the history, cultures, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

We also take this moment to recognize the enduring impact of colonialism, which has contributed to Indigenous communities being 8% more likely than the general population to experience addiction. This stark reality underscores the importance of our collective efforts to address these challenges with empathy and understanding.

At CATC, we’re committed to improving access to trauma-informed and culturally respectful care. Recovery must be possible - and equitable - for everyone.

It’s National Nurses Week! An opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge our extraordinary nurses and the profound impact they have on the lives of our patients and their communities.

At Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres, we see firsthand the essential role nurses play in the journey to overcome addiction. Whether working directly in inpatient care settings or guiding individuals compassionately through outpatient treatments, nurses are integral to the process of healing and transformation.

Join us in thanking nurses for all that they do, in addiction care settings and beyond

At Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres, we see firsthand the profound influence nurses have on patient recovery journeys.

Today, we remember.

We honour the lives of Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit People who were taken too soon.

We hold space for families who carry this pain every day, and for those who are still searching, still waiting, still grieving.

Red dresses hang in silence, but they say many words. They are reminders of the violence, of the loss, and of the love that will never fade away.

Behind every dress is a name.
Behind every name is a family still waiting.

We carry them in our hearts.
We speak their names.
We will not stop until justice is realized and this crisis ends.
