We are multidimensional human beings. To be in balance, we need holistic integration of Physical, Mental, and Spiritual well-being. Not only do we need to fuel and exercise the body, engage and educate the mind; we need to nurture and connect with the Spirit.
Our Western society tends to focus primarily on Physical health (1) and Mental health (2). This is overlooking an entire dimension of the human, the Spirit, which I would argue to be the most important. Your Spirit is eternal. It is the soul inside your physical body, your compass, your knowing & intuition, your guide. The Spirit is pure, unconditional love. If we lived in a world where every human was in touch with their Spiritual self, we would be living in peace.
Most people live and operate from their mind (ego), trying to “think” their way through challenges, illnesses and life itself. That voice in your head is not “you”, it is your ego and it doesn’t know how to be quiet! It is only in stillness, meditation or praying, that you are able to connect with your true nature, the truth. The soul whispers, the mind yells. Practice listening for the whispers.
