Tip: I tried their matcha and wasn’t a huge fan, but their Kyoto latte is my go to. Also heard the dark latte is pretty good too.⁣

Learned how to make beef oshi! 🍣🔥 Final product at the end of the video ⁣

Attended a fun PR event with last week, hosted at the Northwest Culinary Academy. ⁣
⁣
Ingredients were cooked and prepped for us but it was fun to understand the steps in assembling everything. Now I just need to buy an oshibako and blowtorch to use at home. ⁣
⁣

[ Best of 🇯🇵] No.1 ramen in Kyoto 🍜⁣⁣
📍 Honke Daiichi Asahi ⁣
Ramen is a must in Japan, and when I was in Kyoto I learned about this popular brand - Honke Daiichi Asahi. Their main shop (near Kyoto station 🚆) had a massive line even late at night when I walked by. I later Googled them and saw they had a 4.0⭐️ rating and over 8.5k reviews.⁣⁣
The very next day I actually decided to check out their second location in Karasuma as it was much less busy. Their specialty ramen was only 1,180 (less than $8!!) and delicious. I loved the pork-based soy sauce broth and the noodles were cooked perfectly.⁣⁣

Check out this garden-like rooftop restaurant in downtown Vancouver 🌿🌃✨

📍 - 833 W Pender St (14th floor at )

This cozy spot is open all year round and it’s great for date night, GNO 💃, special celebrations or even corporate events. You can buy-out the venue and it fits 150 in the winter and ~200 in the summer.

Mediterranean fusion food here is also delicious. Although slightly on the pricier side, it’s worth checking out especially if you’re looking to experience a different vibe in the city. Also loved the cute cocktails they had! 🦩🫧

I especially recommend the truffle pappardelle. It’s $42 an order which some may find quite expensive off the bat, but let me tell you it’s super heft and the portion size is huge. Definitely worth it especially for the amazing flavour it has. 6 different types of mushrooms and the truffle bechamel is strong and fragrant. ⁣

13-course meal with a good variety of cooked dishes and nigiri sushi. Loved how engaging the staff were and their fun sense of humour. Never expected to see them come out dressed as an ebi nigiri 😆
