We’re over halfway into spring already

and things might feel a little different without any clear reason.

Your energy might feel lighter on some days, your sleep slightly off, and your routine not landing the same way it did a few months ago.

There’s more light, more stimulation, and your system is still adjusting to that change.

You might feel more social while also needing more downtime.

Your appetite can shift, your focus can vary, and even your usual habits might feel harder to maintain.

None of that means something is wrong.

This time of year isn’t about starting over or needing to “tighten up” habits.

Just noticing, adjusting where needed, and allowing your body to find its own natural pace is enough 🐝

What I eat in a day doesn’t look perfect, and it’s not meant to.

My rule of thumb when I eat a meal is asking myself “does my plate have at least 25-30g of protein on it?”

If not, I’m going to be hungry within an hour or two of eating, and it won’t be sustainable.

The goal is enough protein, 90% whole foods, and meals that are actually satisfying so I’m not thinking about snacking all day.

I still eat out, I still choose convenience sometimes, and I don’t try to make every plate “optimal.”

The goal is to support my body in a way that feels realistic to maintain without taking up too much mental space. If I’m overcomplicating my meals, I’m going to get cooking burnout and fall off track.

When your meals are balanced, hormones, energy, cravings, and digestion will feel a lot more stable without needing to overthink it đŸ€

Some things I’d tell my younger self if I had the opportunity:

“Just because a symptom is normalized in society doesn’t mean you have to live with it.”

“You don’t need to wait until something feels serious to start paying attention to your health.”

“The small symptoms you’re feeling are deeper messages of your body’s inner wisdom.”

“Your energy, your mood, and how you feel day to day are all worth noticing.”

“Ignore your doctor telling you that your labs look normal, when you feel anything but! Don’t suppress that inner knowing.”

What would you say if you could go back in time? 💬

A lot of people feel stuck when it comes to their health because they’re trying to piece things together without a clear framework.

They’re adding supplements, changing diets, trying different routines, but not always understanding what to prioritize or why something is not working.

In practice, the biggest shifts usually come from focusing on the foundations first. Looking at blood work for patterns, supporting blood sugar, regulating stress, and building habits that the body can rely on consistently.

From there, everything else becomes more effective.

Health tends to feel complicated when there isn’t a clear direction. Once you understand what your body is responding to, it becomes much easier to move forward with intention.

Some months don’t feel the way you expect them to.

You’re doing the same things, but your energy feels different, your capacity shifts, and things that usually feel manageable take a little more effort.

I’ve learned to not try to rush past these phases or to force myself back into a rhythm that doesn’t fit.

Sometimes it’s a season to move a little slower, take things more gently, and let your body lead the pace instead of pushing through it.

Saving a few reminders like this helps bring me back to that when I forget đŸ€

A lot of people experience brain fog and assume it’s something they just have to push through đŸ˜¶â€đŸŒ«ïž

Brain fog can also show up as low focus, forgetfulness, or feeling mentally slower than usual.

These symptoms are often dismissed as stress or a lack of motivation. But in many cases, it reflects how the body is functioning overall.

Things like blood sugar stability, sleep quality, nutrient status, and inflammation all influence how the brain performs. When one or more of these are off, it tends to show up cognitively before anything else becomes obvious.

Improving focus is rarely about one quick fix. We have to support the systems that allow the brain to function well in the first place.

Brain fog and deficits in short-term and long-term memory shouldn’t be ignored - they are early warning signs of deeper dysfunction 🚹
