* Do: Use cold compresses to reduce swelling or bruising, but…

* DO NOT: Apply a lot of pressure when using your compress against your skin.

* Do NOT lie down for at least 4-hours after a Botox/Filler treatment.

* Do NOT engage in aerobic activities for 24-hours after an injection treatment. Although extremely rare, you do not want any product to migrate from its injection site.

* Do Not sleep flat on your face (if you can help it) for 3-4x days after your treatment.

* Do not wear glasses or hats that may press against a treatment site for 6-hours afterward.

* Do remember that your final results are not necessarily visible immediately. It can take 14-days for Botox to fully kick in, and sometimes even longer for dermal-filler to fully integrate.

* Do try to avoid touching the treated area for the first six hours following treatment.

* Do avoid intense heat (sun lamp or sunbathing)

* Do make sure to stay hydrated and drink lots of water, this will help everything work to it’s full capacity.

* Do feel free to make a lot of exaggerated facial expressions immediately after your Botox / Dysport treatment to make sure the product has integrated into your muscle.

* Do add an extra-pillow under your head before you go to bed (after dermal-filler treatments). The extra elevation can help prevent swelling.

* Do remember to ask about follow-up appointments!

Have you ever considered preventative Botox? Botox works to prevent wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movements.

When you get Botox preventatively, it limits the movement of these commonly used muscles and reduces the resulting wrinkles. When used correctly, you can prevent wrinkles from appearing at all!

COVID19 VS HANDCARE!

✨ Be gentle on your hands– Use cool or lukewarm water with soap to wash your hands. Hot water isn't any more helpful against germs that can make you sick. And hot water can increase skin damage.

✨ Wear gloves when cleaning to protect your skin– Disinfectants for cleaning surfaces are effective against germs, but some of the ingredients can be harsh on your hands.

✨ Moisturize, moisturize– After washing your hands, gently rinse and pat them dry. Right after, apply plenty of moisturizers. If your hands still feel dry after a minute or so, apply more.

✨ Combine moisturizers– Sometimes, a combination of moisturizers works best. Lightweight creams typically add moisture to the skin's outer layer.

✨ Don't ignore early skin protection– Even if your hands don't feel dry or chapped, be sure to moisturize them regularly.

Meet Dr. Karen L. Dallas, one of our incredible injectors at Aesthetica360! 🖤 🖤

Dr. Dallas was born in Minnesota and completed her pre-medical training years outside of Canada. She was one of the few American students admitted to study Medicine at McGill each year.

Afterward, she completed her residency in Hematopathology in Toronto and received fellowship training in Transfusion Medicine & Coagulation at BloodCenter of Wisconsin. I have practiced Transfusion and Hematopathology in both Saskatoon, SK and Edmonton, AB before coming to Vancouver.

She is very passionate about Global Medicine and has worked abroad numerous times. In her spare time, she is very active and involved in the fitness industry.

Got dry skin? More moisturizer is not the answer—or at least, it's not the ONLY answer. When you're dealing with dryness, there's often more going on than just a lack of product. Besides underlying medical conditions, common causes include:

1. Dr. Dale graduated from medical school from UBC and then completed his residency in family medicine with an additional two years of surgical subspecialty residency training.

2. When he's not practicing aesthetic medicine, you can find Dr. Dale assisting in the hip, knee, and open heart surgeries!

3. Dr. Dale was on the Canadian National Sailing Team and was ranked 32nd in the World.

4. Dr. Dale is an avid scuba diver with advanced training and dives cold water locally as well as around the world.

5. Dr. Dale believes in constantly learning new things and pushing his limits and is currently getting his private pilot's license!

Heightened hand wash can be very harsh on the skin because it constantly puts our moisture barriers under strain.

Tips to prevent dryness:

💧 Use a moisturizing, sulfate-free hand wash
💧 Wash with luke-warm water
💧 Be gentle and thorough- don't scrub too hard
💧 Be diligent about moisturizing
💧 At night, try a salve or ointment
💧 Try a cuticle oil
