VCCT provides opportunities for students to learn current techniques provided by practitioners from a variety of training backgrounds, and areas of expertise, so that these students may contribute to and participate in the profession of counselling.

The Vancouver College of Counsellor Training courses and programs have been designed by practising Psychologists, Family Therapists and Counsellors to balance state-of-the-art theory and practice with accessibility and interest to the widest spectrum of students. The result is a set of courses that both beginners, and practitioners can benefit from.
Some students who come to VCCT may have no background in counselling theory, some are interested in career transition and use VCCT as a steppingstone to university programs, some are working already, in helping roles in their communities and want to formalize their training, some are interested in personal growth and personal recovery, some to enhance interpersonal and communication skills generally, and some want to enhance their existing practitioner skills.

VCCT is ideally located for any prospective student residing in the Vancouver Lower Mainland, and all of the Greater Vancouver Regional District Municipalities and Cities including: North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Maple Ridge, New Westminster, Richmond, Surrey, White Rock, Abbotsford and Chilliwack.
Our diplomas, specialized certificates, and certificate programs are offered to both new students and experienced practitioners already working in community service agencies or private practice. All programs and courses at VCCT are available to Canadian and International Students both on-campus or through distance education.
Students who enroll at VCCT may be interested in personal growth, exploring a new career, completing a College Diploma for its own value or as a step towards further University training, or to enhance and upgrade their practitioner skills and abilities.
