Move.🍃
Even it’s just going for a 30min walk, it goes a long way.
When I stop moving my body, that’s when I start to notice emotions and thoughts getting stuck. My body becomes so thankful when I start taking care of it again. Making it a priority.
I’ve always been super active as a kid, phys ed. and cooking were two of my favourite classes! I Irish danced for 11years competitively. Always either went to the gym, ran, hiked, got deeply into yoga. Followed by spin classes, group fitness, and now Pilates.
It takes me a lot to get sweating but once I am there, and especially afterwards I feel so much lighter.
After my grandfather passed away in the summer (2024) I had stopped almost all movement practices. Grief is a funny thing. I had to learn that sometimes just going for a walk was exactly the movement I needed. Living in Vancouver I sometimes get caught in the health culture industry, that I forgot working out can be simple. Not taking a class, making myself feel guilty for it wasn’t helping me into moving my body again.
Your movement journey doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to feel good to you. Friendly reminder that with lots of movement a balance of rest is always recommended 😉
Movement journeys are just as important as all other journeys 🙏✨🍃
