These words are more than just concepts — they’re anchors we come back to, especially in moments that feel uncertain or heavy.

Resilience doesn’t mean having it all together. Gratitude doesn’t erase pain. Kindness isn’t always easy, especially toward ourselves. But within each of these practices is the quiet, powerful reminder that healing isn’t linear, and growth doesn’t need to be loud to be real.

At Vancouver Psychology Centre, these values guide the way we support and show up for our clients.

As you take in this word web, we invite you to pause and reflect:
✨ Which of these words do you need more of in your life right now?
✨ Which one feels especially true for you today?

What is ADHD?

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a common brain-based condition that affects focus, impulse control, and energy levels. People with ADHD might find it hard to concentrate, stay organized, or sit still — but they also often have creativity, enthusiasm, and unique problem-solving skills. 🧠

ADHD looks different in everyone. Some people are more hyperactive and impulsive, while others struggle mainly with attention and focus. It’s not about laziness or lack of effort — it’s just how the brain works.

At Vancouver Psychology Centre, our clinicians understand ADHD and offer support tailored to help you or your loved ones thrive. 🌿

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day — a day to honour the lives of those we've lost, support those who are struggling, and break the silence around su***de.

At Vancouver Psychology Centre, we want to say this clearly: your life matters. Your pain is real. And you are not alone.

Su***de is complex and deeply personal, but it is also preventable. Healing takes time, and reaching out can feel incredibly difficult — but connection can save lives. Whether you're someone who’s hurting or someone who wants to support a loved one, know that hope and help are always possible.

Let's keep the conversation going — without judgment, without shame.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please reach out. You're never a burden. You're human.

Psychoeducational assessments aren’t just for identifying major challenges — they’re tools for insight, support, and advocacy at any point in a child’s learning journey.

✅ Fact: Assessments can help with:

• Uncovering learning styles and strengths

• Understanding attention and focus concerns (like ADHD)

• Supporting kids who are bright but underperforming

• Exploring giftedness or twice-exceptionality

• Navigating school stress, anxiety, or low confidence

Early clarity can lead to the right supports — and a big boost in confidence, engagement, and success.

Curious about whether an assessment might help your child? We're here to guide you.

What is Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)?

EFT is a research-based approach that helps individuals and couples better understand, express, and work through their emotions — especially the ones that feel overwhelming, confusing, or stuck.

Rather than avoiding difficult feelings, EFT helps people explore them safely and meaningfully. It’s grounded in the belief that emotions are powerful messengers — when we learn to listen to them, they can guide healing, growth, and connection.

EFT is especially effective for:
• Strengthening emotional bonds in couples and families
• Working through depression, anxiety, or past trauma
• Increasing self-awareness and emotional resilience
• Healing relationship patterns rooted in disconnection or fear

At Vancouver Psychology Centre, we’re happy to offer clinicians who specialize in Emotion-Focused Therapy, supporting clients in making sense of their emotional world and building more authentic, connected relationships.💚

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a natural response to stress — it’s your body and mind’s way of signaling that something feels uncertain or threatening. Everyone experiences it sometimes, like butterflies before a big event or worry about the future.

But when anxiety becomes overwhelming, constant, or starts to interfere with daily life, it can feel exhausting and hard to manage. It might show up as restlessness, racing thoughts, physical tension, or avoiding certain situations.

The good news? Anxiety is treatable, and you don’t have to face it alone. At Vancouver Psychology Centre, our clinicians offer support and tools to help you understand and manage anxiety so you can feel calmer, more in control, and more like yourself.

Change your words, change your world. ✨
The way we speak to ourselves matters — our inner voice can either weigh us down or lift us up. Sometimes, shifting just a few words can create a completely different mindset.

Instead of: “I can’t do this.”
Try: “This is hard, but I’m learning.”

Instead of: “I messed up again.”
Try: “I’m human. I’ll try differently next time.”

The words we choose can shape how we feel, how we grow, and how we move forward. Be gentle with yourself — your thoughts are listening.

It’s a collaborative process focused on your goals and empowering you with skills to navigate life’s challenges.

At Vancouver Psychology Centre, we are hppy to offer CBT to support you on your journey toward greater well-being.
