We are an organization of ambitious students looking to impact our community through nutrition education in our local elementary schools!

This group is for all potential Nutrikids ambassadors! Help educate local elementary school children by applying your nutritional knowledge!Application for 2022/2023 is now open!About Nutrikids:Nutrikids is a nutrition education program for elementary school children. Through Nutrikids, we are able to teach children about the basics of nutrition so that they can start making smart choices about food at an early age. In our simple nutrition workshops, Nutrikids ambassadors will introduce children to a healthy, active lifestyle including a balanced, nutritious diet; interested elementary school teachers have already signed their classes up for workshops. Volunteers will be asked to choose a few classes for which they will present workshops for. Training is provided by dietitians from the BC Dairy Association. This year we are newly sponsored by our very own LFS Faculty, Panela Lemon Stuffed Vegan Cookies and Red Crown Pomegranate Juice!

Here is to a new year, and a new term of Nutrikids!🍎 By volunteering with Nutrikids, you will have the opportunity to be trained in collaboration with registered dietitians from the BCDA and be provided mentoring in planning and delivering nutrition workshops to elementary school students. If you have a passion for bringing nutrition education to kids in the community and advocating for the importance of healthy eating, apply now to become a volunteer. 🥦

New or returning volunteer? APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!! Check the link in our bio, the application is due January 20th, 2025 11:59 PM PT!

**NOTE:

1. Both the Nutrikids orientation and BCDA orientation are optional for RETURNING volunteers. However, if a returning volunteer is not able to attend the orientation, there will be a mandatory quiz that will count for your attendance.

2. Returning term 1 2024/2025 volunteers MUST also complete the application form if they wish to continue being a volunteer with Nutrkids. Indicating that you are a returning volunteer in the application form will prompt you to finish the shorter application, which will allow you to provide us with your updated availability and pod member requests.
