What I wish I had learned 20 years ago:
- When getting an offer, always ask for more. More money, more vacation time, more something.

- Network internally in your company, not just externally. This is huge.

- Encourage people on your team to advocate for themselves and create a safe place for them to share their thoughts.

- It’s ok to have a different opinion and you should voice it.

Love this quote that we came across on 📍

As a society that’s been accustomed to an individualistic “blame the victim” narrative, it’s easy to single out individuals as if they’re the ones that need to “be fixed” or “improved”. What’s beautiful about this quote is that it reminds us to look at the environments, the context, the circumstances, that people are situated in.

This macro level perspective helps us better understand the environment that one is in and, even, leads us to supporting one another to flourish into our highest potential 🌷🪷🌹

(Pink Tank Group): We love that you have incorporated smart technology and an app into the pill box which can help so many people on a daily basis. How did you explore this technology and turn it into a reality? 📲💊

(Kate): Thank you! It's been a process, that's for sure. I did a lot of research around the 'Internet of Things', and how we can use smart, digital technologies and products to for healthy habit formation. Technology can be used for better or for worse, and so taking the power of tech and connecting it to daily rituals was my way of using it for good. To take my ideas and make them a reality I knew I had to bring on a product design and development team with deep knowledge and vast experience with electrical engineering, firmware and software development. I've invested a lot of resources and capital in the development of .loba. I hope Loba makes a positive difference for our customers and enables them to be well. ⚡️⚡️⚡️

I once attended a brunch and was introduced as “a working woman”. A little girl looked up at me and said incredulously “you work?!” I was actually a bit dumfounded but eventually responded with “absolutely, and you can too”.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is doing this herself by what she has accomplished and had to overcome to gain a lifetime seat on the highest judicial court that no black woman has ever had. For the first time ever, we have three people of colour and four women on the Supreme Court. Baby steps forward and onward. 👏🏻👊🏻🗽

I remember sitting with Mary many years ago and she was talking about trying to create a way where she could live in Vancouver in the summers and Hawaii in the winters. 🌴 🌊

It was a passion and drive that carried her throughout her whole career and is a hard idea to achieve but she had a vision and stayed true to it. 👀

Fast forward to the present, she is the founder of Stillwater Nature Spa. A beautiful spa focusing on massage therapy located near the ocean in Tofino. The best part about Stillwater? It is a unique glamping tent that allows you to fully immerse in nature and allow the body and the mind to truly relax. The second best part? Mary is able to stay true to her dream and work during the summers (work a ton!) and travel during the winters. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
