The BCPS vision is that all BC infants, children, adolescents and their families will attain optimal physical, mental and social health. In order to realize this vision, we have these goals:

1. To advocate for improved health for infants, children, and youth, and their families

2. To advocate economically on behalf of pediatricians, and

3. To provide cme accredited educational opportunities for pediatricians and health care providers.

A new BC Pediatric Society survey brings into focus the critical role and growing pressures facing community-based consultant pediatricians delivering mental health care in BC. The BC Pediatric Society distributed a survey to members of the British Columbia Pediatric Society in February 2025 to explore the role community-based consultant pediatricians (CBCPs) play in delivering pediatric mental health services in British Columbia - and the results revealed critical gaps. The study results appear in the January/February 2026 issue of the BCMJ.
