Hello everyone! 👋 It’s been a while since I’ve popped up here, but I’ve been up to some meaningful work — including becoming a Last Aid Facilitator with the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association.
Our next Last Aid course is on November 24, and I’d love to see some familiar faces there.
It’s a beautiful, down-to-earth program that helps people understand what to expect at end of life and how to offer practical, compassionate support.
If you’ve ever wanted to feel more confident helping someone through dying, this is such a good place to start. 💜
Please message me if you’d like to learn more.

I’m so excited to share that the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association has launched the first dates for the Last Aid program — a public education workshop focused on helping people feel more comfortable to support people through death and grief.
I’m honoured to be joining their community as a facilitator for these sessions. Some of my wonderful colleagues already have workshops scheduled, and I’ll be meeting with my co-facilitators soon to add more dates to the calendar.
Visit their site to see upcoming sessions — and stay tuned for mine!

“With a big smile on her face, with her family by her side, my mom – a mere fraction of her former self – found peace and was finally able to take some control back over her life. It was beautiful, empowering and peaceful.” My friend Selena shares her mom’s MAiD journey through the Dying With Dignity Canada blog.
Advance requests for MAiD is in the midst of legal discussion in Canada. If you wish to lend your support to a petition to legalize advance requests for MAiD, you can find the link at the bottom of the article.

Had to share this one! 😂
I'm sorry...WHAT 😤
“I just found out that it’s ‘up to your family’ whether a person is buried with a bra on or not. I’m just warning anyone in my family now, if you bury me with a bra on, I will haunt every one of you for the rest of your lives!!!!”

“Dying provokes nearsightedness in the caregiver.” Unpack that one for a moment, will you? This is from Nina Riggs’ gorgeously written memoir on living and dying called “The Bright Hour”. I’m curled up by the fire this afternoon soaking in this beautiful book. I hope you all are recharging today too 😊

It’s not every day that you can turn $1 into $3! I love BC Cancer Foundation and the wonderful work they do. 💗
That’s why a team of clinicians and scientists at BC Cancer developed a one-of-a-kind program to conduct whole genome sequencing of tumours from patients with hard-to-treat, incurable cancers, in search of personalized solutions.

Folks, I will admit to struggling lately. I’ve got a lot on my plate and feel stretched beyond my comfort zone. Is anyone feeling the struggle too?
I took a long drive on Sunday and silently asked for help. The answer was given within minutes and I felt so calm. Heading home, this beautiful sky was in front of me. It would be hard to say there is nothing bigger than us in the universe when faced with such glory in nature. 🤍🤍🤍

In 2008, my beautiful mom Sheryle passed away from a rare cancer at age 57. It was my first up close and personal experience with terminal illness and death. I was 30 years old and struggled with not knowing where things were at for most of the last year of my mom's life. It was a huge learning experience, and it changed my life.
In the years following, I have been along-side others living with life limiting illnesses and understand what people and their families can be experiencing. When I first read about End of Life Doulas, I was struck by the value and need for this kind of support, and knew that I wanted to be a part of it. After a lot of consideration, I began the training and education needed to become an End of Life Doula, and launched my practice in 2018.
