When we try and force a busy mind to be quiet, a network in the brain (the Default Mode Network) kicks in, and suddenly we’re ruminating on the past or stressing about the future. It’s exhausting.

This video uses an AI me, and honestly it started because of a sweatshirt. I had this idea “Aritzi-ugh, the Regina George of retail” and I wanted to see what it would actually look like. And since I’ve been recovering from surgery and couldn’t get in front of a camera, I figured it was finally a decent excuse to try something I’d been curious about for a while. I definitely don’t see it becoming a regular thing, but here we are anyway….

I didn’t need science to tell me this works because I’ve been watching people walk out after a light session feeling lighter, clearer, and more grounded for years.

Now? A 2024 peer-reviewed study out of Berlin confirmed that flickering light (like the exact Light I use at RE:MIND) actually boosts emotional responses, and more specifically to music.

Feelings like joy, awe and inspiration. The kind of stuff that gets people unstuck.

I already knew this but it sure feels nice to have the data.

You know this by the way.

The part of you that checks the app at 6 AM and feels worse, that part already knows the tracking isn’t helping. You just haven’t given yourself permission to stop. The data isn’t wrong... It’s just not the fix.

Nobody comes to me because they’re not trying. They come because they’ve been trying for years. Meditation apps, therapy, journaling, all of it — and they’re still exhausted.

What I’ve noticed after 500+ sessions: the people who get the most out of the Lucia light are usually the ones who are worst at relaxing. The ones whose brains won’t cooperate. The overthinkers. The people who failed the breathing exercise. The light doesn’t care. It works the same either way. You don’t bring anything into the session except yourself. No technique. No intention-setting. No right way to do it.

You close your eyes. The light shifts your brain into a state between waking and sleep. What happens next is yours.

A lot of people try float tanks expecting instant calm. Then they get in… and it’s just them and their thoughts. No distractions. No off switch.

For some people, that’s not relaxing. It’s the opposite.

Your brain doesn’t just settle because it’s quiet. It needs something to follow.

That’s why I use light instead of darkness.

You’re not trying to force your mind to chill out. It happens on its own.

If you’ve been here a while, you already know this about me: I’m obsessed with light. I literally built a whole business around it because helping people sleep better, feel better, and actually unwind is the whole point of RE:MIND.

So when I try something new in the ‘light space’ you know I’m going to talk about it. I’ve been wearing these Luminette glasses for two weeks, and the interesting part isn’t my mornings, it’s my nights. I’ve got more sleep pressure, I fall asleep easier, and my Oura Ring is showing more deep sleep.

Honestly? I think they’re flippin rad.

I might look like a tool, but that’s cool, ’cause my sleep is better than your sleep.
