Hi everyone! Now that pools are re-opening and renting to groups, there is interest in attending both n**e and n**e-optional pool events. However, for the Wreck Beach swim club to hold events again, there needs to be new volunteers. Previous people staffed the welcome table for years and have retired from the positions.

So if you are interested, please send us a message and provide us your contact info, ie email address and phone number, and best time to reach you if by phone.

Meanwhile, NIFTY has started n**e-optional pool events again at Templeton and all updates for NIFTY as well as any other swim clubs such as the Wreck Beach Spa/Pool Club are posted on the NIFTY calendar at niftyn**e.org --- they do their best to keep the calendar up to date.

To join a swim club, bring your gov't issued ID and cash for membership on the night of a pool event. Next one is by NIFTY on March 25 at Templeton pool, 8 pm. Get there early as pool capacity is 60 people and they have had to turn ppl away at the door when capacity is reached. And as always, check the calendar for any last-minutes changes or updates.

UPDATE: THE NIFTY SWIM SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 29TH AT TEMPLETON HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND NIFTY'S CONTROL. HOPEFULLY THE ONE SCHEDULED FOR NOV 26TH WILL GO AHEAD AS PLANNED. Please correct if this is wrong information! But here's what we think is the current situation:

Lately people have been asking when there will be return to n**e or n**e-optional pool events. Even though many pools now have their hot tubs and saunas open again, for organized events of 50 people or over, the facilities require vaccine passports. The WBPS and NIFTY pool events need over 50 people to break even. And this would mean confirming vaccine status ahead of time as well if that really is the requirement.

So unless we can guarantee that we will have a minimum number of fully-vaccinated attendees (prolly pre-paid to be sure) and that people can freely come and go to the hot tub (without restricted numbers or time -- since that is where most participants like to relax) then it just isn't feasible to hold a pool event at this time.

A wonderful "thank you" to all those who attended this weekend's pool event at Lord Byng! It was great to see people up from Bellingham, down from the Yukon, and over from Chilliwack -- and everywhere in between. The hot tub was lively with conversation, volleyball was lively too, and the sauna soooo relaxing. The pool was a very pleasant temperature, and as always, the staff were so helpful and friendly. And thank you to all those who shared this event with others, on FB and off. Looking forward to seeing all of you and more very soon! Love, love, love to you all this Valentine's weekend!🥰

Judy Williams has been our dedicated leader at the beach and arranging our fun, family friendly pool events for a good long time. So now is a great time to.give a shout out n a super special thank you to her. She always tries to attend at the desk at the WB pool events whenever possible -- braving a long distance drive even in the soggiest n snowiest weather.

Not only was she snowed in last time but she was also quite badly injured on Dec 13th and is still a long way from over that fall. She knocked out a front tooth, cracked ribs, tore intercostal muscles, smashed herself, whiplashed her neck, and tore a shoulder blade muscle spreading her arms trying to break her fall. Pls send her massive healing vibes for a speedy recovery!♥️
