My Swapping List was founded in Vancouver, BC and our aim is to reduce the over consumption and waste of goods by individuals and businesses. We are taking the old saying "reduce, reuse, recycle" to a whole new level. The site works similar to the good old barter system where you swap services and goods you may not want or need any more for other goods and services that are of the same value. You are matched with other users on the site based on what you offer to swap. Should a posted good remain on the site for 60 days or more, users have the option to donate the item to one of our sponsoring charities: The Salvation Army, Big Brothers, or Habitat for Humanity -thus providing support for those in need in our community. The corporate motto of My Swapping List is: Supporting People and the Planet, One Swap at a Time. Embracing green initiatives and extending the lifecycle of hard goods by eliminating monetary exchange and resorting back to the oldest form of acquiring goods and services - the barter system - is our goal.
