B.C. Rheumatoid Arthritis Support

B.C. Rheumatoid Arthritis Support This page is for those with Rheumatoid Arthritis in British Columbia, providing information and support. Melissa, I would not have made it without you!

Anyone can join us, it doesn't matter where you live, however, the content will be focused on the Vancouver area, British Columbia and Canada. Facebook has made this world much smaller and without it and those who share on it - I would not have come through my first year of RA (2012) without it. I was inspired to start this page by all the wonderful people I have met on Facebook and in person who

have been a part of my life since my diagnosis. Kelly Young at www.rheumatoidarthritiswarrior.com, Niki Wyre at RA Chicks, and my RA sister Melissa who lives near Chicago, who was diagnosed at the age of 2, and whom I have never met! I have to acknowledge my sister Denise, my mom Leighton, my GP of 30 years, Heather Morrison who I went to at the beginning of my first big flare, retired during this time referring me to a new GP who has been great, my rheumy Dr. Shahin Jamal, and her nurse Bonnie, who always make me feel heard. There are many others on my team as well, my Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker and everyone at the Mary Pack Arthritis Centre. I have an amazing team and I hope this page supports you while you find yours! Please open the "Notes" link on the right side of the main page just under the Welcome message. You will find many local and general RA resources in the "links/website" post. Let us know if you have resources to add.

I always say that's it's the little things.... It truly is

In her latest blog, Carrie highlights how when you add up all the little things, it becomes something quite significant. Whether you were on a road trip like Carrie, taking one step after another, are a “green-thumb” hero who rescues plants, or are someone waking up every day and fighting the overwhelming urge to stay in bed, you’ve accomplished something. Everything adds up.

From me, your admin.....

For the first time since August 2025 I have improved fatigue levels ... So eff you Pharmacare for forcing me to switch meds that were working for me so $ could be saved.... I'm sure you will never factor in the cost to me of quality of life, possible damage to my body and the possible future cost to the system due to that.... I'm still suffering with pain and flares, but it's easier to cope with than when you have zero, and I mean ZERO energy ⚡ 🖕
