Send this to your partner before you watch another fertility reel alone.
Because here's what doesn't get talked about enough.. Male factors contribute to 40–50% of all fertility challenges. And yet the standard fertility workup is still almost entirely focused on the woman.
I'm not saying this to blame anyone. But if you've been the only one getting tests done, the only one tracking, the only one optimizing, you may be working incredibly hard on half the picture.
Here's what the research actually tells us about s***m health and what impacts it:
✨️ S***m take 70–90 days to fully develop, meaning what your partner eats, drinks, and is exposed to right now is directly shaping the s***m available three months from now
✨️ High s***m DNA fragmentation (damage to the genetic material inside the s***m) is linked to failed fertilization, poor embryo development, recurrent early loss, and a doubled risk of preeclampsia and it does not show up on a standard semen analysis (Stenqvist et al., Fertility & Sterility, 2024)
✨️ The biggest driver of DNA fragmentation is oxidative stress and it is treatable
What impacts s***m quality:
• Diet high in processed foods, sugar, and seed oils
• Smoking and alcohol
• Obesity and insulin resistance
• Chronic stress and poor sleep
• Exposure to endocrine disruptors (BPA, phthalates, pesticides, synthetic fragrance)
• Nutrient deficiencies, especially zinc, selenium, folate, and vitamin D
Fertility is not a solo journey. Getting a complete picture means both partners being assessed, supported, and optimized from the beginning, not as a last resort.
If this is a gap in your process and you want someone to actually look at the full picture with you, that's exactly what my 1:1 work is for. DM me directly!
Follow me for more common but not normal fertility takes, because someone has to say this stuff out loud.
