MEETINGS ARE HELD EVERY MONDAY at 8:00 pm.

VEGREVILLE does not host NA Meetings; however you can call 780-421-4429 (Monday - Thursday: 11 am - 2 pm) or this same # is available 24/7.

WINTER getting your mood down?

Reflect on the words you use and how they shape your thinking and emotions. Are you “stuck at home” or “safe at home”? Is it a bitter, cold day, or a sparkling, sunny day? What things can you enjoy in winter that are not possible at other times? The shades of blue on the snow, diamond-like frost crystals and icicles, skating . . . the list goes on!

- Practice hygge (creating cozy, comfortable atmosphere) Example: light a candle, make a favorite hot tea/chocolate, wrap-up in a soft blanket, read a book, keep calm & enjoy the stillness)
- Establish routines (adjust for each season) enjoy a hot bowl of soup with every meal, make comfort foods: stew, soups, chili, try new recipes. Take a warm bath in the evening.
- Connect socially (bundle up & invite a friend for a walk, take a thermos of hot chocolate) disconnect from screens. Play a game of cards.
- Validate your feelings & needs ("If you’re having a tough day, acknowledge it, and give yourself some comfort.")
- Move your body (even a short walk outside is beneficial for your mind, body & spirit) Learn to snowshoe or ski. Sustaining wellness during the winter requires some attention and different strategies, but it can be done. Winter doesn’t have to be a time of unhappiness and stress.
