This is the reason I cancelled the last few classes, to visit my mother-in-law Elly who was terribly ill and passed away the day after we got there.
I could not have asked for a better mother-in-law, she was a second mom to me. She was one of my biggest supporters, always encouraged me, and even participated in my very first yoga class virtually because she couldn’t attend in person! She loved me so much and I love her. I miss her already.
I would like to thank you all again for your patience, kindness, and understanding as we navigate this difficult time.
OBITUARY – ELEANOR ELIZABETH GRAY
Eleanor Elizabeth Gray, 75, passed away comfortably on August 29th 2025, surrounded by loved ones, to join her beloved Bryan on one final adventure. Born on February 1st 1950 in Ottawa ON, Eleanor had an extraordinary gift for nurturing deep, lasting connections with those around her.
Nor was an unstoppable force, so full of life, with the greatest smile and an infectious laugh. She was honest and straightforward in the most refreshing and admirable way. Elly's homes were always open, serving as gathering places for family and friends.
Elly loved to travel, spend time in Texas, sit by the ocean with her feet in the sand, and delight in a glass of wine and delectable food. She enjoyed tending her garden up at the farm and relaxing with a good book.
She is survived by her son Travis and daughter-in-law Sonia, her brother Randy and sister-in-law Bonnie, her nephew Ryan, his wife Sophie, and their daughters Romy and Abby, and a vast network of friends.
We shall not cry at her passing. There will be no memorial service or celebration of life. Instead, Elly wanted a party, which is yet to be determined. Her ashes will be spread on the sunny shores of Mustang Island: “A special place with a special taste that she always desired.” In lieu of flowers and donations, we ask you gather with loved ones, raise a glass of wine in her honour, and speak of your fondest memories, so the love she shared lives on.
