✳️Finances: use your equity to enjoy your retirement and afford the best living arrangement to suit your current life

✳️Community: be closer to family, move to an independent living community, or consider in an assisted living arrangement

With any life change, evaluate your reasons, assess finances, research options and plan and prepare.

Physical activity is important for all ages, but as we age, it’s especially important to find ways to maintain strength and movement for a healthy life.

Here’s some tips to help you get active

✳️Find an activity you like such as swimming or cycling.

✳️Minutes count — increase your activity level 10 minutes at a time. Every little bit helps.

✳️Active time can be social time — look for group activities or classes in your community, or get your family or friends to be active with you.

✳️Walk wherever and whenever you can.

✳️Take the stairs instead of the elevator, when possible.

✳️Carry your groceries home.

Most importantly:

✳️Start slowly

✳️Listen to your body

✳️Every step counts

Home support for loved ones is a simple way to show you care and are thinking of your loved ones whether you are away or simply need some support to shoulder the responsibility of caregiver. Often simple household chores can become daunting and difficult for seniors as mobility, exhaustion or illness prevents them from performing tasks they used to be able to do quickly and easily.

Count on us to step in as extended family, and provide home support services to encourage seniors to feel more comfortable and cared for in their own home which can be a huge step emotionally in fostering independence, safety and security while lifting stress and improving physical and mental wellbeing.
