Hello! It has been a long while since we were on here. Life has changed a bit for us. We are both working full time at other jobs now. With putting our families and our health first, and trying to find a manageable balance, our crocheting has taken a back seat. We still love it and will keep working on things, just not to the extent we were. Moving forward, we are only going custom orders, not keeping inventory, so feel free to reach out and ask us to make something. And we are keeping our social media accounts active, so reach out on here if you have questions, want to order something or just want to say hi:)
The experience we have gotten from doing Prairie Mommas has been great and we are so thankful for it and all of you. 💜
Love Alli & Noni

Congrats to all you grads! 🎓🎉
We are so proud of all your hard work, determination and positivity! Each of you is such a gift and we appreciate you all so very much.

..And now a long/sappy post because I am a mom during grad week..
A few years ago, my oldest daughter 'graduated' from elementary school. Her school did a beautiful ceremony of sorts and as they introduced each kid leaving grade 4, they said what they wanted to be as an adult. I don't remember each of them, but there were many doctors/nurses and teachers. A couple firefighters and scientists and a pilot. A few artists and musicians and sports players. And then the class sang a farewell song (every parent cried) and there was a carnation given to each parent of grade 4, the teachers and assistants of the class and each graduate got a flower too. It was special.
A couple days after that, I watched the high school graduation ceremony. And as each kid got handed their diploma and roses, they mentioned what their goals were, after graduating. Again, I don't remember them all, but there were many teachers and a few doctors/nurses/health care aids. Lots of scientists and engineers. A number of artists and musicians and sports players. Many recieved scholarships to help achieve their goals. It was so profound watching this grown up kids take the next step in making their future exactly what they wanted.
And it hit me, kids reach for the moon and stars and decide accordingly...Do they know it isn't going to be easy? yes, they do. Do they know it takes work? yes, they do. Do they let that stop them? No, they go for it anyways. I want to be like them when I grow up.
With the pandemic being a thing now, I have missed out on hearing these kids' goals as they graduate, yet I am still inspired by each one's persistence through these challenging times. In our community, the kids bring a welcome positive outlook and fun energy that we all love.
And as I watch my kids and my friends and families' kids grow, I always take note, smile and admire their determination, positivity and resilience. Kids are amazing. I want to be like them when I grow up.

Always stop to smell the flowers
🌸🌸🌸
Lilacs are dear to our hearts and one of our favorite smells. They give off the perfect scent of sweet, fresh, summery and floral all at the same time. The yards that are blessed with such flowers treasure this week, as the blooms will fill the yard with their sweet aroma. We take advantage of every breath we can get to enjoy their delighful smell. And did you know lilac flowers are edible?
Lilac season is also super short here in Manitoba, a full week if the wind stays away and leaves the flowers alone. They are the only thing faster than our kids growing up. This time of year, a bunch if our kidds (2 of Alli's and 1 of Noni's) turn a year older. Makes us realize how fast time goes and reminds us to enjoy every moment we get with them at their current age, where they are now. Some days (and moods) are easier to enjoy than others, but we love them and they make our life so sweet.
What is your favorite thing to do with lilacs? Any tips on extending their short season? And kids...but pretty sure there is no hack for keeping them little a tad longer.
Pictured above is our Mud Pie Luxury Shower Bar with a handful of beautiful lilacs. We are trying to come up with a lilac soap, but nothing yet. If/when we do, will let you all know 💜 In the meantime, take every opportunity to enjoy this beautiful flower.

~Chia Lavender Luxury Mud Bar~
(Swipe to see more pictures ➡️)
This luxury soap is made with so much goodness, your skin will have a new favorite. 💜
One of the ingredients is Rhassoul Clay, from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, which is known to reduce dryness and flakiness of the skin. It also has an amazing ability to improve your skin's texture.
On top of the clay, we added Chia Organic Botanical Extract which is amazing for nourishing the skin and making it look radiant.
The base is Goat's Milk soap base and Shea Butter soap base. All the softness!!!
Plus oils and Lavender (Lavender is great for skin, will do an entire other post on that later) to make your skin look and feel its very best.💜
[Full ingredient list below]
Dm us to order yours! or email prairiemommas@hotmail.com
Recommend use: If using on your face, apply to a wet face, as the clay and other ingredients may be abrasive on dry skin. Wet the soap and get a generous layer of soap on hands, then apply to face and massage in circular motion, avoiding eye area. Can let sit for a minute, can keep massaging if desired, and then rinse with water.
For use on body, can use the bar directly on wet skin. Or can apply luxury soap to a loofah or cloth and use that to massage onto the skin. Do not rush to rinse it off, as the Rhassoul Clay, Chia Extract and oils do wonders if allowed to linger on skin for an extra minute or so.
Ingredients: Goat's Milk soap base, Shea Butter soap base, Rhassoul Clay, Chia Organic Botanical Extract, Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Lavender essential oil, dried Lavender flowers and leaves.

May your Monday be productively relaxing and just what you need to start your week 🤍
We have a love/hate relationship with Mondays. We love how productive they are, especially if we had a relaxing weekend. We love how a good Monday makes for a great week. We love a routine of sorts and Mondays are a routine. We hate how the weekend has to end. Also, waking up early is -not- our fav, but is needed for a productive Monday. And we also hate that our to-do list seems crazy long on Mondays.
All that said, in growing our little business, we have learned to appreciate a
everything about and work with Monday. For us that means taking a few minutes to sit while sipping coffee/tea/or something and plan the week ahead. Even if the week goes nothing according to plan, having a goal to work towards makes a big difference for us. Also, coffee is extra strong on Monday, and we love that ☕

When you move like a jellyfish
Rythm don't mean nothing
You go with the flow

Ask us what our favorite weekend plans are.... .. guaranteed part of the answer is a nap 💙 The other part will be a delicious coffe (or other favorite beverage) and relaxing while working on our projects 🧶
Our teenage selves would roll their eyes really loud, but we love what we have going on now. Staying low key, enjoying every moment we get watching our kids grow and learn, and loving every Sunday afternoon nap we get. 💙
Why DO naps feel better on the weekend? Are you the same, or are you one who does all the things on the weekend? Let us know in the comments 👇
Also, if you want to level up your nap, these blankets are the way to do. DM us if you want one 📩💙

~ May your day be delightful ~
There are so many different ways to make a day good. A relaxing morning. A good cup of coffee (or tea). A nutritious (or favorite) breakfast. Work done productively, minimal hurdles. Well timed breaks. Snacks. Time in the sunshine. Smiles. Best playlist. Family time. Down time. Comfortable bed. Good night sleep ... and there are many missing from that list.
Even in these challenging times we are in, we can make choices to help us have a good day, most days. For us, that usually means enjoying a cup of coffee while it is hot. And crocheting, even for a little bit. The days we don't get to work on our projects aren't as good.
What is one thing you do that makes your day wonderful? Tell us in the comments ⬇️

Thank You!!!! ❤
From us, Alli and Noni
This is what we look like when we are working together now. This business of ours is a side hustle for both of us, and we are employed at different places, have different 'bubbles' and have adjusted to working together apart. So much has changed over the past year....and yet much is the same. For example:

💜 we love to crochet 🧶
💜 we love our customers, and have felt their support through all this craziness 🤗
💜 we love making custom orders and have been blessed with many requests to make wonderful items (check out our highlights if you want to see pictures)
💜 we love coffee, especially Irish Coffees. Back in the day, we would plan a morning or afternoon, enjoy Irish Coffee together and work away at our current projects. Now, we enjoy this virtually, not the same but we still appreciate it. ☕🥃
💜 We love to buy, collect, and use yarn to create new things.🧶 From small snowballs to big comfy blankets, working with yarn is a favorite passtime for us. (yes this can be and is different than the first point 😆)
💜 We get to work while staying home and spending more time with our family 🥰

We are so thankful and grateful for all the above and so much more. ❤

Thank YOU to each and everyone of you for messaging us, liking our posts, giving feedback, sending items for our survival, reacting to our stories, watching our videos, ordering something, and sending pictures of what we made being loved. Thank you!!!! We appreciate every single one of you ❤🤗

Take care and stay safe everyone❤ From Alli and Noni

🐺 A wolf is a symbol of strong beauty; quiet comfort and magnificent balance 🐺
A favorite animal to many, it can teach us so much. I seriously suggest you look them up, they are amazing. For instance, did you know their communication skills are next level? They communicate with facial expressions withing their pack. (still working on this in my family lol) And their howls can be used to help strayed wolves come back to the pack, inform everyone it time to go hunting, keep rival packs away or it may be a lone wolf song.
Share your favorite wolf fact in the comments 🐺⬇️
Our wolf hooded blanket does not howl (you're welcome) or help communication skills (sorry). It does, however, become an excellent hug when you need a hug, a reading partner who doesn't give any spoilers, a working buddy (for those who work from home) who won't whine or steal snacks. This wolf's sole purpose is to provide warmth and comfort 🤍🐺
Most of our hooded blankets are purchased for kids, yet we also make them adult sizes!!! And let me tell you, as an adult, a warm, cozy, quiet hug is the best🤍 Tag a friend ⬇️ who would love a cozy hooded blanket 😊

We released these velvet leg warmers in our IG TV vidoes a couple weeks ago and just getting around to posting about it now. (better late than never, right?)
The backstory: In the winter of 2019/2020, we were set up at a few skating shows ⛸ and we loved them! At the finals, here in Virden, there was a sweet little customer, maybe age of 8 or 9, asked if we made legwarmers that coukd be put on and taken off without having to unlace skates. Up to that point we didn't, but did want to for her. So we spent the weekend, making her a custom set of legwarmers. She was so great, giving us ideas on how they could look, picked her own buttons and came by to check on our work often 😁
After, we made hers, we decided to offer making custom leg warmers and would announce that at the next show.....well 2020 happened and we haven't been to one since, but still offer making them.
They are made with velvet yarn and a textured stitch so they are delightfully soft and warm, while being snug and light. They have button closure so wrap around your leg just right, and stay there. We do not carry inventory on these, custom orders only, that way each set is made just for you, and will fit just right.
And, they not just for skaters, they for anyone who wants an extra cozy layer on their legs for whatever season the praire weather decides to hit us with
🌫🌥🌨🌬☁️
DM us to order your custom pair or ask us anything 😊
