Thanks to everyone who has reached out to check on us. We are all safe after some intense storms in the province of Valencia.

The city centre of Valencia, where we live, experienced very little rain or flooding but the small towns around us were hit very hard. As we learn more about what these communities need, I will share ways to support.

The country is observing three days of mourning for all the lives lost.

Spot the dads!!!

A lot of people here, expats and locals alike, talk about living here for the work life balance. The parks are a great example of how this shows up. Everyday when school gets out, the parks are filled with kids and their dads.

Even the dads who claim to have busy, stressful jobs are still able to leave work go pick their kids up from the bus and take them to the park right after school. And I have yet to meet one of them who seemed stressed out or upset about the task. In fact, many of them say they live in Valencia so that they can have this kind of balance in their day. ☀️

On my own this week.....😳😳😳

Dave is headed back to North America for some work this week and next, so I'm on my own for the first time to manage all the pieces in Spain.

I'm a bit nervous to honest. With two soccer schedules in different directions and a four-year-old that needs to go to bed at a reasonable time it's definitely going to be hectic. Just want to send a huge thank you to Aunt Mare, Uncle ray, Alison, Fatma and all the family and friends that made our soccer schedule manageable at home. Not sure how I'm going to do it without you this week.

Something that I have noticed in all of us, since arriving here, is that we instantaneously became more aware and grateful for our lives in Canada . Our friends and support network are at the top of that list. ❤️❤️

New family tradition. Sunday beach days ❤️ This isn't something we ever did in Ontario but here it seems the weather and water are always perfect for a beach day. Sundays most things are closed so heading to the beach feels like the thing that everybody is doing before the start of a new week.

1st day of JK, grade 9 and A levels (grade 11). ❤️

So much change for these three today and I am so proud of each of them. New school and school system, new friends, new country. 😳😳😳
