Today I’m dealing with ADHD paralysis.
What’s that? It’s when us ADHD’ers get overwhelmed with where we are/what needs to get done. We freeze and avoid…and then feel guilty for freezing and avoiding when the list gets longer or the weight of things gets heavier.
Today I’m stuck, I feel like I’m failing…and though I have tools and strategies to deal with this…here I am on instagram🤷‍♀️


If you see a friend, or a coworker, a partner or a child stuck or paralyzed by their world…please extend a kindness and support. Help them find a little dopamine and start them on their journey to accomplishment. How? Validation, laughter and help break down or identify the first steps.
It’s genuinely a tough spot to be.

A picture is worth a thousand words right? I think this one is priceless….
It’s been years of watching these kiddos grow. Grow independently, grow personally, grow academically, grow socially and most importantly grow together.
As a teacher, a coach, a tutor and therapist I’ve had so many kids come and go in the 17 years I’ve been doing this; these two are the hardest to say goodbye to.
I am grateful for the lessons they have taught me. I’m grateful for all the incredible experiences we’ve shared. The ways we’ve laughed, the ways we’ve apologized and the ways we’ve supported each other are immeasurable.
Never forget children watch us and read us. Never forget that children are learning from everything they do. Never forget the light they bring to our lives if we give them our time and attention.
Thanks boys for letting me be part of your journey; and being an integral part of mine!

Texts like these are the best way to start a day!
My tutoring client is crushing grade 10 math this year!!!! I’m proud not only of how hard he’s worked to build these skills (he gives 110% in our sessions)-but more so, I’m incredibly happy to see his math confidence so strong!

This might not look like much…but to two young thespians, it was everything.

Buddy climb today was EVERYTHING!
We spent a whole hour and a half mastering our technique and partnership skills.
As partners we tried (and mostly succeeded) things we normally wouldn’t. We had to problem solve in a new and outside the box way! We thrived! We kept getting back on the be smoother, better, stronger.

It was great for communication, trust building and problem solving and physical exercise.

So. Much. Fun.

This week I’m buzzing with anxiety. It’s rattling around in the back of my brain; I know why and I know it will dissipate after this weekend.
But sometimes…despite all BEST attempts…this is what your brain feels like at midnight. Your body is exhausted but the brain be going a mile a minute doing nothing productive.
This was me last night…and probably will be again tonight.

To those who know this feeling: hang in there! It will pass! Keep at it! It’s hard and it’s exhausting…but it will be okay.

NOPE!!!
We adhd’ers often thrive with music driving our extra energy while we calculate and process our math problems. In fact, studies have shown that we process and remember information better when using multiple senses.
My girls CRUSHED it tonight and they had oodles of fun doing it!

I’ve been doing STEM for a number of years now and this year was the first I was able to gather the crew to make a big, functional Rube Goldberg machine.
This means a large scale chain reaction with the end goal of accomplishing a task. I encouraged the kids not to be limited by rooms or floors or materials-THINK BIG!

Our task was to turn on a light when we closed a door.

It took us two whole days and a bajillion trials/tests/fixes…but
We had to really work with angles and physics for our large scale design. It was a little new…but we crushed it!

The video doesn’t capture how excited they were that all their hard work paid off!
