TWO questions for you!

❧ Not ‘exactly’ (actually not at all LOL) a handmade item but one of my favourite gifts to give around the holidays is an amaryllis bulb. For whatever reason, I think if it as homemade? Anyway! I usually choose the red ones but pure white is pretty too

❧ Wrap it in a thin layer of tissue and gift in one of my bags (obv). The recipient gets the bag and a beautiful living thing that is timed to perfectly blooms for early Feb. Even if you have a black thumb this will grow and bloom! A nice way to brighten the days during overcast winter weeks...

Did you know…

🕎 The word Hanukkah means ‘dedication’

🕎 The history behind the holiday is to celebrate a band of rebel Jews (Maccabees) that reclaimed their temple from the Greek-Syrians

🕎 Hanukkah lasts for 8 nights, representing how long the holy light burned. They only had enough oil to burn for one night but miraculously it burned for 8

🕎 A Menorah is a candelabra that has 9 candles. One candle is lit each night, the middle lighting all the others representing the 8 nights the oil burned

🕎 More traditionally money 💵 was given in Hanukkah and then it became more gift-giving as Christmas became more popular

🕎 The famous dreidel (spinning toy picture above) was created as a distraction when the Greek-Syrians outlawed Jewish Studies. The Jewish people pretended to play the game when in fact they were studying their scripture!

🕎 Hanukkah festive dishes are fried to represent the oil that burned for so long, which is why the jelly donut is so popular. Over 17.5MM jelly donuts are consumed in Isreal during this celebration!

It’s the time of year that people consider giving their time and/or money to non-profit organizations. There are so many worthy causes I’m sure we can all agree on that!

Adam’s 🍎Apple 🍎Foundation was created to honour the legacy of Adam Hryhorchuk who passed away at age 22 from an accidental drug overdose. Adam struggled with drug addiction and mental health through his adolescence.

Adam’s Apple Foundation continues to provide teens with tactical tools to help create mental health literacy. They operate in 30 schools and community centres across British Columbia.

BUY NOW AND SAVE  Since the whole pandemic, EverPresent Giving has absorbed multiple increases on fine fabrics and trimmings. As part of my social family this is your courtesy heads-up that the best pricing is now, before Nov 1st.

For those that started following us last year after BFCM weekend please know that we do not run big discounts that weekend, contrary to popular practices.

As a small boutique business it’s not sustainable for us to do so. What we DO offer is bundle pricing ALL YEAR. Not sexy or pushy but it’s the best way I know how to manage it all and reward customers with purchasing consciously.

Right on time to sooth those frayed nerves over the last.. who knows how long it’s been now?

The Modern Holiday Collection was inspired by the uncertainty of this time. The earthy colours are such that it provides peace and tranquility when we need it most 🙋‍♀️
