Bubbles, laughter, and lots of curiosity! 🫧

The children had so much fun playing with soap bubbles—watching them float, chasing them, and popping them. This simple activity encourages movement, curiosity, and exploration, supporting children as strong, capable, and curious learners, just as described in FLIGHT: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework.

Play like this helps develop motor skills, creativity, and wonder while the children learn through joyful experiences together.

Last week at daycare was full of fun and learning! 💛

We explored fine motor activities, enjoyed reading time, played games, and had plenty of dance parties! The children loved crawling through the forts we built, building confidence and coordination — and pony riding was definitely a highlight!

Our menu kept little tummies happy too: colourful pancakes with ham and oranges (a big hit!), homemade soup, and lasagna with garlic bread.

All of these experiences connect to Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework, as we continue creating strong, capable, and curious children through play, exploration, and meaningful connections every day. 💫

This week’s cold snap and blizzard didn’t slow us down at Jr’s Daycare! ❄️

The children loved exploring snow-filled sensory bins and engaging in safe, supervised risky play to build their fine and gross motor skills. We also enjoyed plenty of crafts, art projects, and even a little entertainment watching vehicles get stuck (and unstuck!) outside.

We’re also happy to now offer a cozy parent area where families can sit, read, or enjoy a snack together before or after their busy day. 💛

Congratulations to five of our amazing staff members on completing a 6-week course, Possibilities for Practice, through Alberta Resource Centre for Quality Enhancement (ARCQE)! 🎉

This professional development opportunity has helped strengthen our knowledge and deepen our understanding of the Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework. We are so proud of their commitment to continuous learning and to providing the highest quality care and education for the children and families in our program.

This past weekend, our owners had the privilege of attending this year’s ARCQE Showcase of Learning. With the support of our Pedagogical Partner, we gained valuable insights, connected with many inspiring professionals, and discovered excellent resources to further support our educators, children, and families within our program. We are grateful for the opportunity and already looking forward to next year’s event.🐤🐤

The kids have been busy playing away! 🥰
From colouring masterpieces 🎨 to playing doctors 🩺, exploring their own sensory bins, and whipping up goodies as little chefs 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳—they’ve been having so much fun!

During the two PD days this past week, they even turned our staff into mummies 😂🧻 Lots of laughs, creativity, and big smiles all around!

A big happy birthday to a brand new two year old!!

The kids had the BEST time at their Christmas party! Everyone was invited — parents, siblings, and grandparents — and it was such a special celebration. A huge thank you to Glitter Pop Pixies for making soooo many balloon animals for the kids. They were a huge hit! 🎄🎈

✨ We haven’t posted in a while… because we’ve been too busy having fun! ✨

And the fun isn’t slowing down — we have so many exciting days ahead and can’t wait to share them with you!

Lately we’ve been bringing the snow inside for sensory bin play (a huge hit!), creating tornadoes in bottles, having dance parties, and heading out for some chilly walks. ❄️💃🌪️

We’re also so close to having our outdoor space ready, which means even more adventures coming soon!

And of course, this month our elf Darwin returned and has already been getting into plenty of mischief and fun. 🎄✨

🧡👻 Halloween Party Fun at Jr’s Daycare! 👻🧡

We had so much fun celebrating Halloween today! Our daycare was filled with the cutest costumes — from Cinderella and Rapunzel to a cuddly bear, adorable Bluey, a sweet little kitty, a brave firefighter, Superman saving the day, Mickey Mouse, and so many more! ✨🎭

Even Sharky came for a visit! 🦈💙 And of course, our amazing staff joined in on the fun, dressing up and celebrating right alongside the kiddos!

We played games, explored our spooky sensory table, and enjoyed all the best Halloween snacks! 🍬🎃
