Field Trip Fun at the Royal Alberta Museum! 🚌✨

Today Jr’s Daycare took our school-age kiddos (Grade 1+) on an exciting field trip to the Royal Alberta Museum! With school out and museum admission free for kids, we jumped at the chance for a day full of learning and adventure.

The kids explored Indigenous culture exhibits, enjoyed lunch together, and then headed to the animal exhibit where they saw some amazing displays — including bison skeletons! Fun fact: all 7 kids and 2 teachers together weigh about the same as a female bison! 🦬

We learned about wolves, bears, and the Ice Age, and even spotted turtles and snakes. In the bug exhibit, the kids got to pet a centipede and see a giant stick bug bigger than an adult’s hand! They were fascinated by the black widow spider and dazzled by the beautiful rocks and gems from Alberta and around the world.

It was a day full of curiosity, laughter, and learning — the perfect mix of fun and discovery with friends! 💛

✨ This past week at daycare was full of fun and laughter! ✨

We had a blast with bubbles, dress-up, and dance parties! The kids loved playing with the parachute and making lots of creative crafts. We also welcomed some new friends to our group — everyone had so much fun playing together, especially with the food toys! 🍎🥦

Our little ones enjoyed some tasty meals this week too — cheesy eggs with ham and broccoli, hearty beef barley soup (a big hit!), and pancakes with ham and raspberries. 🥞💛

🌟 These past two weeks at Jr’s Daycare have been filled with so much fun, learning, and laughter! 🌟

The kids explored all kinds of developmental activities 🧩🎨 — from playing ponies 🐴, hide-and-seek 🙈, coloring 🖍️, water tables 💦, and sensory bins ✨, to community walks 🚶‍♀️🌳 and, of course, spending time with friends ❤️.

And we can’t forget about the delicious meals and snacks! 🥗🍎 Some favorites included chicken quesadillas with carrots & dip 🌮🥕, mini pizza muffins with salad 🍕🥗, grilled chicken with sweet potatoes & corn 🍗🍠🌽, Taco Tuesday 🌮, sweet & sour meatballs with homemade mac & cheese 🍝, and ham & cucumber wraps with Tostitos 🥒🥪. Plus, so many yummy snacks like yogurt with berries 🍓, bananas 🍌, oranges 🍊, and more!

🌟 Meet Alice! 🌟

Alice is one of our amazing student staff! She’s always ready to lend a hand and loves helping out her fellow staff members with whatever is needed. You’ll often find her assisting with cleaning, helping at lunch, filing paperwork, and of course—spending time playing with the kids.

Alice loves seeing the children happy and having fun, and she has a special gift for supporting them when they’re feeling overwhelmed.

💫 Alice’s superpower: Helping kids regulate and find their calm.

In her spare time, Alice enjoys reading and relaxing with a good book. She also has a love for coffee, books, and bats. 🦇☕📚

We are so lucky to have her bringing her kindness and support to our daycare family! 💕

🌟 Meet Emma! 🌟

Emma is one of our amazing part-time staff, usually working three days a week. She first found her love for childcare as a babysitter and nanny, and that passion has grown into a true joy for working with kids.

Emma loves hanging out with the children, watching their personalities shine, and connecting with her coworkers. She’s a true team player, floating between both rooms and jumping in wherever she’s needed.

💫 Emma’s superpower: Crafting! She has a special talent for creating fun, new projects with the kids.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys skateboarding, snowboarding, biking, swimming, and of course—babysitting. She also has a ton of creative hobbies like diamond painting, fuse beads, kandi and pony bead creations, and making special things for the kiddos!

She’s a fan of iced capps, wolves, and (of course) all things crafting. 🐺✨

We are so lucky to have her sharing her creativity and energy with our daycare family! 💕

🌟 Meet Rheanne! 🌟

Rheanne is the second owner of Jr’s Daycare and brings with her 16 years of experience in the childcare field. She absolutely loves working with children and is also a proud and busy mom of three wonderful boys.

Rheanne is passionate about bringing love, laughter, and joy into the lives of the children, families, and staff she works with. Building strong connections with families is something she truly values, helping to create a warm and supportive daycare community. While she spends much of her time handling office tasks and paperwork, you’ll often spot her in the classrooms—jumping in to spend time with the kids and lending a hand wherever she’s needed.💫 her superpower: She sees everything!

When she’s not at work, Rheanne enjoys coloring, hanging out with her boys, and relaxing with some TV.

Fun fact: She’s also a big fan of coffee, butter horns from Keri’s, penguins 🐧—and cheering on her Edmonton Oilers! 🏒💙🧡

🌟 Meet Erin! 🌟

Erin is one of the newest members of our Jr’s Daycare family, and even though she’s new to childcare, she already loves her new role! 💛 For the past 17 years, Erin was a talented hairdresser, but she decided it was time to give her hands a break and try something new — and we are so glad she chose to join us. ✂️➡️👶

Her son has been part of Jr’s for over a year, and now Erin gets to spend even more time with him here, which makes her job extra special. 💕 She loves crafts, keeping the kids busy and engaged, and watching their imaginations come to life with all the fun things they create.

Her superpower? Making everyone laugh! 😄 Whether it’s kids or coworkers, Erin’s sense of humor brightens the room.

Outside of daycare, Erin enjoys making resin art (she even sells her beautiful creations at local markets! 🎨), tackling home renos, and of course treating herself to her favorites — coffee, donuts, and baked goods. ☕🍩🍪

🌟 Meet Haley! 🌟

Haley is one of our newest team members at Jr’s Daycare, but she already fits in so perfectly! 💛 She’s a brand-new mom to the sweetest little baby boy, and one of the perks of her job is that she gets to sneak in extra cuddles with him whenever she wants. 🍼💞

You’ll find Haley on the Penguin side with our littles. She’s always quick to help, making sure the kids have everything they need, and she loves planning fun activities that make everyone laugh. Walks and park time are some of her favorites! 🌳👶✨

Her superpower? Cleaning! 🧽 No matter the mess, Haley is on it — keeping both the room and the kids fresh and tidy.

Outside of daycare, Haley enjoys listening to music, baking up delicious treats, and hosting friends. 🎶🧁🍴 She loves spending time with her family, relaxing around a bonfire, and living her “food is love” motto. 💕 Her favorite things include Kinder chocolate 🍫, Pepsi 🥤, Halloween 🎃, and turtles 🐢!

🌟 Meet Brittany! 🌟

Brittany has been part of the Jr’s Daycare family for over a year now, and she’s already made such a big impact. Some of the kids even know her as Batman (an inside joke that always brings smiles 🦇💛).

She’s with the bigger kids on the Flamingo side of the room, where she loves building connections with both the kids and their families. Nothing makes her happier than seeing how excited the kids get when she arrives at work! 💕

Brittany is also full of creative ideas — from planning fun themed days like 80s Day to Science Day, she always knows how to bring the fun. 🎉🔬✨

Her superpower? Making the kids laugh — every single day! 😄

Outside of daycare, Brittany enjoys playing video games, making jewelry, and crocheting. 🎮📿🧶 She also loves her coffee ☕, sugar skulls 💀🌸, and (of course) more video games!

We want to start introducing our amazing staff.

🌟 Meet Jocelyn! 🌟

Jocelyn is one of the wonderful owners here at Jr’s Daycare. With over 17 years of childcare experience and her Level 3 in Early Childhood Education, she brings so much knowledge, love, and fun to our team. 💛

She’s an amazing mom to two daughters and is most often found in the baby room snuggling little ones, keeping everything organized with schedules and paperwork, or whipping up the most delicious and healthy meals for everyone. 🍎🍝

Jocelyn is so amazing with all the kids and always puts them first no matter what. 💕 She loves surprising them with fun new toys and is always there to help whenever she’s needed. 🧸✨

When she’s not at daycare, Jocelyn loves spending time with her family, hanging out by a fire, and making memories with her nephews. 🔥💞 Her superpower? Getting kiddos peacefully off to sleep at nap time! 😴✨

Fun fact: Jocelyn is a big fan of coffee, sweet treats, and… flamingos! 🦩☕🍬

We are so lucky to have Jocelyn leading and loving on our daycare family every day! 💫

✨ It’s been a very busy (and exciting!) few weeks here at Jr’s Daycare! With school starting, our days have been full of learning, fun, and friends. 💛

In just the last couple weeks we’ve done it all — park visits, neighborhood walks, science experiments, wand making, and of course making memories with our best friends! 🪄🌳🧪

And let’s not forget the food… even though we didn’t catch many pictures. 🍽️ We’ve enjoyed spaghetti, pizza, feel-better soup, yogurt & berries, an ice cream party, Caesar salad, rice with chicken & veggies, and so much more! 🍕🍦🥗

We are so thankful for these busy, joy-filled days! 💫

🌟 A HUGE Thank You 🌟

We want to send out the biggest thank you to everyone who helped make our auction such a success! 💛 From the parade, the hot dog lunch, and the float, we are beyond grateful for the incredible support we received. A special thank you to the Fehr family and their kids for helping build the float and throwing candy during the parade — and to Erin for the use of her truck and trailer.
