Ashtanga Namaskar in the dark is like being an OWL at night. 🦉

Here are a few cues to keep in mind for this asana:

1. Start in the high plank with your palms firmly on the ground, shoulder-width apart, and your body forming a straight line from the top of your head to your heels. Keep your feet together.

2. As you exhale, lower your knees, your chest and your chin to the ground.

3. Keep your elbows tucked in close to your body.

4. Your shoulder blades should come closer to one another.

5. Get your drishti (gaze) focused on one point.

6. In this 8 limbed pose, be aware of your contact points: your feet, your knees, your hands, your chest, and your chin.

7. Lift your elbow off the ground, only your hands should be touching it.

8. To deepen the movement, walk your feet closer to your hips.

Comment any other cues you like to provide in this movement below! 👇⬇️

Yoga is often perceived as a practice that is inaccessible and expensive. A practice reserved for the middle upper-class who can afford it.
It’s one of our goals to democratize it as everyone can benefit from mindfulness, breathing techniques and postures! 😄
As many families across the world are struggling to make ends meet, including free meditations and valuable information is something we want to push further.
As we think about creative ways to build communities, new solutions arise.
At YogaCanadaToday, everyone is welcome.

Please like and share if you agree with this philosophy and send us a message if you have any questions!
Stay tuned for free guided meditations designed by our team!
Enjoy your weekend ❤️

Satya means truthfulness and this concept is particularly relevant where you try to capture authentic moments.

When I pose for the pictures, I might have a rough idea of what I want but most of the time, I improvise allowing myself be guided by the environment on the day of the shoot.
One of the reasons I work so well with my photographer, is that we have a similar work ethic. We flow when it comes to pictures and we don’t stick that what it’s supposed to be, accepting what is. ‘s method, is the right balance between discipline; making things happen and pushing ourselves to go further, mixed with a sparkle of spontaneity.
It might sound backward but sometimes, you have to say yes to life and figure the details out later.

Practicing yoga in the snow was an adventure! 🗺️🧭
Unlike being in a studio, the ground is uneven, the wind challenges your balance, it can get cold, you might feel like the snow is hard and stable but next thing you know, your foot is deep underground.
Since yoga and nature have a deep interconnected relationship, it is always an honour to be in the wild to capture the moment. For such a session, it’s not only about the pose but how you get into it and being in a mindful space.
The surrounding naturally bring a deep sense of awareness, gratitude, and connection.
Is it challenging? Yes.
Is it worth it? Even more.
Thank you for the adventure!
Even while you are doing ramadan, you got up early and made this happen! Your dedication to art is admirable 🖼️
