SMART Recovery Yukon This is a self help program dedicated to providing the tools and information to defeat harmful activities. Welcome to SMART Recovery.

This is a self help group dedicated to providing the tools and information to defeat self harming activity such as alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders, self harm/cutting, gambling, sex addiction, and more. SMART Recovery is a Cognitive Behavior and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (CBT/REBT) type of recovery program based on science and proven technics. For more information, and to create an online profile (anonymous or otherwise) please go to the website below. My name is Jeremy and I am a facilitator of the SR program here in Whitehorse, Yukon. I am also participant of the program. I have been making presentations on SR for the inpatient programs at Alcohol & Drug Services for a while now. I have received a lot of positive feedback regarding the program each time I give a presentation. For this reason, I believe it is time to 'give back' and step up the availability of SR for the Yukon. While Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous are well established and effective treatment programs for some people, I found it did not work for me for many reasons. I began a search for other recovery programs to help me with my harmful practices and came across SR. The program has been very successful for me and I do not see an end to my sobriety using the tools the program offers. This page is a general information page regarding the program, recovery studies, and success stories. It is a stepping stone to entering the program. I have created a closed group for those interested in entering the program, for setting up meetings and/or presentations, and direct discussion about the recovery process. It is separate for confidentiality reasons. If you are interested in working towards reducing harmful activities, I encourage you to give SMART Recovery a try. A reminder the doors at 211 Hawkins St are locked after hours, so someone is there from 6:45 to 7:10 to let people in and direct them to the meeting. After that the meeting has started and no one is looking after the doors. If you know you are running late, consider texting or calling the number on this page and someone can be there to let you in.

During Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day, there are multiple daily online meetings to aid in our recovery during the holidays.

As well there will be another virtual, annual New Year’s Eve Around the World! This 24-hour long event rings in 2022 in every time zone.

This nonstop meeting with hourly start times begins at 5:30 a.m. ET on December 31, 2021, and ends at 3:30 a.m. ET on January 1, 2022. Online meetings are laid back and fun with themes selected by that meeting’s host.
