I know a lot of us are struggling to keep extra weight off, here's my thoughts ...
Over the past five decades, obesity has become a common issue among humans. Many people, lacking a deep understanding of nutrition, often don't fully grasp the underlying problems.
As a result, the blame is frequently placed on overeating or constant hunger, when in reality, the issue often lies with metabolism and food choices.
While the quantity of food consumed can certainly be a factor, it's not always that straightforward. The situation is usually much more complex.
Due to widespread misconceptions, many people attempt to lose weight by trying to stop eating, often resorting to methods that make them feel full even when they aren’t.
This leads to the use of appetite suppressants, foods that expand in the stomach, and other gimmicks born out of the mistaken belief that food itself is the enemy.
The truth is, food is fundamental to life. It provides the nutrients necessary for survival and replenishes the components of our bodies as they are used up.
Historically, people consumed as much food as they could because food scarcity was a common issue. The goal should be to desire healthy food in balanced amounts.
Artificially suppressing hunger or tricking yourself into feeling full disrupts this balance and confuses your metabolism, just as consuming unhealthy foods and becoming overweight does.
Instead, focus on eating the foods your body naturally craves: meat, fruit, eggs, vegetables, and starches. These are the foods our bodies are adapted to consume.
You might be thinking, "Is he seriously suggesting that eating more will help me lose weight? That's what made me overweight in the first place!"
To clarify, I'm not saying that continuous eating will result in weight loss. The issue isn't simply "too much food." It's a complex problem involving the types of food you eat, when you eat them, food combinations, metabolic strain, your current metabolic health, and inefficient patterns your body has adapted to over time.
This inefficiency leads to weight gain.
Avoiding food, which is essential for your performance, health, and wellbeing, only exacerbates the problem. It further distances your metabolism from its ideal state. Now, you're not only dealing with being overweight or diabetic but also facing a depleted source of fuel and nutrition.
So, don’t just eat less, starve yourself, or trick your body into feeling full, thinking that will solve the problem. Food is not the enemy.
Instead, learn to use food wisely. Understand it as a vital medicine that needs to be managed correctly.
By doing so, you can enjoy your meals, eat until satisfied, avoid jumping from one fad diet to another, and develop a strong understanding of how different foods affect you. This knowledge allows you to make informed food choices based on your recent or upcoming activities, leading to better health and peak physical condition.
You’ll feel energized throughout the day, experience less brain fog and cravings, develop an athletic physique, and naturally heal your gut.
