One thing I learned from my pregnancy and the birth of my daughter was that the postpartum stage could be equal or as hard as the birth.
I feel it’s a stage that’s kind of skimmed over with suggestions to have meals prepped in the freezer, sleep when the baby sleeps, drink plenty of water; you know, the basics.
But what I feel many forgetfully (or possibly intentionally) fail to tell you is that the first 4-6 weeks can be challenging. Your experiencing bleeding, tenderness, painful bowel movements, your coming down from the birth high and now you don’t know whether to laugh, cry or scream, the exhaustion has finally hit you, maybe your not getting sleep, your mourning your pregnant belly, your b***s are leaking milk everywhere, maybe your not producing at all. Your life quite literally has completely changed and now your responsible for keeping this tiny little human safe and the person you were is gone and your stepping into your new self in the role as a mother.
It’s different for everyone, but I think we can all agree that the one thing we appreciate through it all is support.
I relied a lot on herbs to support my postpartum healing process. Daily sitz baths and herbal teas helped support the physical healing as well as gave me nourishment to balance and ease the mental and physical tiredness.
That warm herbal hug I experienced during my postpartum days, I wanted to offer to other mothers.
✨UPLIFT- A nourishing herbal tea blend to support and ease the transition of your mind and body
🤍NURTURE- Support the healing process post delivery with a gentle blend of sea salt and herbs to be used as a Sitz bath or with the use of a peri bottle.
Both of these new products will be available this weekend at my local Holiday Market at the Vaughan Fire Hall. ( South West Hants Fire Service) and will be added to the site this week.
