👮👨‍🚒The inaugural Battle of the Badges hockey game is taking place Wednesday February 4th on the Bowl at the WFCU Center. Proceeds from this event will support local cancer research.

The Battle of the Badges is a best-on-best charity hockey showdown where Windsor Police and Windsor Fire will face off in an electrifying game that celebrates competition, community, and compassion—all in support of local cancer research.

With full Spitfires-style production—music, lights, player introductions, and all the energy of a pro game—fans will experience a night that embodies teamwork, resilience, and hope. Supported by Play for a Cure, the Cancer Research Collaboration Fund (CRCF), and the WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF), every goal scored and every dollar raised will help advance innovative local cancer research.

Together, we’re proving that when our community unites, we can make a real difference.

🚨Urgent: Special Message from the RMHA🚨

The City of Windsor is proposing an 8% increase for Ice Fees in the 2026 budget.

We want to bring this to our member's attention, with the hope that we can have our voices heard. We hope that everyone can come together and help us ensure that rink rental fees are not raised at a rate that significantly outpaces inflation. This will affect hockey and figure skating registration and fees across the City of Windsor; thus, creating a barrier to entry for integral physical activities for Windsor's youth. To help us, please express your concerns to our City Council members and urge them to rethink their fee increases for this year.

Reach out to our city councillors and voice your opinion!

🏒Outdoor Classic at Lanspeary Park: A Celebration of Hockey and Community🏒

This past weekend, Lanspeary Park was alive with excitement as the Riverside Special Rangers faced off against the HCMS Hunter Navy in the annual Outdoor Classic. The event was more than just a hockey game—it was a celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and pure joy.

Both teams brought incredible spirit and energy to the ice, creating an atmosphere filled with fun and camaraderie. From the first puck drop to the final whistle, players showcased their passion for the game, reminding us all why hockey is for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the players and cheer them on. Your enthusiasm helped make this event truly special. Here’s to many more moments like these that bring us together and keep the love of the game alive!

Riverside Minor Hockey Shines at the 29th Annual Hockey for Hospice Tournament!

From December 27–29, 2025, RMHA proudly participated in the 29th Annual Hockey for Hospice Tournament held across Windsor and Essex County. This incredible event brought together 10 Riverside teams competing in three divisions — all united by one goal: supporting the Hospice of Windsor-Essex.
Here’s how our teams made an impact:

U11 Division – 3 teams raised $4,530.00
U13 Division – 4 teams raised $8,915.50
U15 Division – 3 teams raised $6,473.95

That’s a grand total of $19,919.45 raised by Riverside Minor Hockey for this amazing cause!

On the ice, we had five teams advance to the semi-finals, and we’re thrilled to celebrate the U11 Riverside Storm White as the E Division Champions!
A huge thank you to our players, coaches, families, and supporters for making this possible. Your dedication and generosity truly make a difference in our community.

Congrats to our U14, 🥈U15 and our 🥇Champion U16 Rangers for making us proud!

Congrats to the winning teams:
The HC Energie Karlovy Vary (Czechia - U14)
The Windsor Jr. Spitfires (U15)
Riverside Rangers (U16)

So many people have helped us put this event on again this year. A big thank you to the Kitchen Staff under the direction of Bob Sobocan, Rob Keech and Mike Rocheleau for putting in long hours, along with the many volunteers. Thank you to Jan Sokolowski and his team who prepared all of the lasagna from scratch, to Koolini Italian Catering for the chili, Donna's Deli for the hot dogs.

Thank you to our Sponsors!

A huge thank you to our billet families (including two from Tecumseh-Shoreline) who hosted our Czech friends this week. It's a major factor in bringing overseas teams here.

Thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 255 in Riverside, and the Scottish Society of Windsor for attending again this year with the colour party and the pipes and drums to help us pull off another great Opening Ceremonies!

And finally, many thanks to the Tournament Committee, RMHA President Anne Marie Schofield, the RMHA Board and all of the volunteers who helped out in the kitchen, Welcome Desk, Tournament Office, scorekeepers, officiating staff etc.

To all of you who helped, thank you for continuing a community Christmas tradition! We look forward to seeing you all next year on Dec. 28, 2026 at the 66th! Happy New Year and enjoy a safe and prosperous 2026!

🏒🎄We invite you all to join us for the 65th Annual International Christmas Tournament taking place at the WFCU center Dec 28-30th.

We would like to give a big thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255 in Riverside for their presence at the Opening Ceremonies. They have been a part of this tournament for all 65 years. We also want to thank the Scottish Society of Windsor who once again brought their pipes and drums to lead the way. Our Life Members were there along with a very special ceremonial faceoff, as we honour our dear friend, the late George Russette.

🚨Come cheer on your U14 Rangers as they take on the HC Energie Karlovy Vary from Czechia at 5:30, Monday December 29th on the Bowl @ WFCU🚨
