Excited to announce that I’ll be working at St. Vital location starting next week!

🎓 Klein graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2023. Klein also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology & Recreation Management from 2018. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association!

🏀 Klein is a dedicated physical therapist who is committed to helping others achieve the best version of themselves. Klein enjoys watching and playing sports, especially basketball and football.

🙏 The multiple injuries he sustained during his athletic career shaped him to be the compassionate and empathetic physical therapist that he is today. These experiences taught him the value of resilience and the emotional toll of physical setbacks.

🚲 During his free time, he likes to go mountain biking at Birds hill or Bison Butte. He enjoys working out at the gym, playing musical instruments, travelling, and spending time with family.

Shoutout to on her transformation. She started Online Training with me back in October and all I can say is she’s very consistent and her progress shows. Here’s what she has to say about the online training program:

Q: when did you start?

Gym sign up date March 24th, 2022
Pt sign up October 7th, 2022

Q: What was the problem you were trying to solve?, did I help you with it?,

Everything haha from wanting to feel better physically and emotionally, finding more confidence in myself, re-habilitating/strengthening muscles around my left knee (reconstruction acl surgery back in 2018), 100% helped.

Q: what's your favorite part of training or having a trainer?

Having more of a consistency/structure on what to work on each week, going out of my comfort zone and pushing myself to go a little harder. Definitely saw more of a progression with pt.

Q: what are advantages of online training

The flexibility on when to do the workouts, taking my time and being able to refer back to my exercise history.

Q: would you recommend it to a friend?

I would.

IT DEPENDS!

Not everyone has the same anatomy and ability. Should we force the standard of “ass to grass” squat on a 60 year old who has just started a fitness regimen? I hope you said NO. It would be incredible if they could do it with no problem (i’ve seen it many times). However, the reality is: most people are unable to do so without having pain or they simply just CANNOT do it.

On the other hand, training with full ROM is beneficial for improving strength throughout the whole range of motion. Also, training in full ROM means increased lengthening of the muscle fibres during the eccentric component which means increased opportunities for muscle growth/hypertrophy.

Spice up your bird dog with this variation. This will challenge core stability and breathing.

🔑Key tips:
1. Keep the core tight as if you’re bracing for a punch in the gut. Maintain bracing for the whole set.
2. DO NOT SWING the hips side to side. 3. Keep knees close to the ground - this will help keep the back neutral.
4. No need to add weights. Regress to bird dogs if unable to maintain above tips.

Just sharing a pic of one North Star’s badass long term client. Mindy started training with us a year ago after learning that her doctor was gonna resort to needles to treat her diabetes. She was already taking 6 medications then. Fast forward to a year later, she’s down to ONE SINGLE MEDICATION to help treat her diabetes. Her secret? Lifestyle change and training hard with us .fit .
