Trying to maintain social distancing like.....

03/22/2020

What are you doing with your extra time?
I just got a lot more free time on my hands. For at least a couple of weeks, but likely longer.
You could treat it as a vacation, watch Netflix, drink, and just relax.
Or you could make use of it.
I’m taking part in an online CrossFit competition , the quarantine online open, and also have some plans for other things!
My main goals for the next few weeks are:
1.) work on my side business, to improve my reach, impact, and how well I can help my customers. My main goal is to plan out content for the next 3-6 months.
2.) workout every day. By workout, I mean dedicated movement. Doesn’t have to be exhausting every day, but should definitely have a bit of intensity to it most days.
3.) get better at handstands. Because I think they are cool, and I’d like to be able to do handstand walking in workouts, but mostly because they are cool. Goal is a 15 second hold without assistance. I plan on practicing for 5 minutes a day.
I don’t care what you do with your time, but I suggest you do SOMETHING with it. Don’t waste it.
Not every goal has to be super serious, or something that will push you forward in business or life. Sometimes you need to have goals because you think it would be cool to do that thing.
Then go do the thing.
Stay safe out there friends. Keep your distance, wash your hands.

May feel like it, but the world isn’t falling apart. There’s nothing wrong with sitting at home for a couple of weeks.
Remember that it’s not about you or your young, healthy friends. This is about everybody that you and they come into contact with, and they come into contact with, and they come into.....you get the point.
This is NOT an overreaction. You’ve seen what’s happening in other countries, and say whatever you want, but the goal of this is to prevent that from happening here. All of them say they wish they had taken it more seriously, and had done something sooner. Let’s not make their mistake again and ignore everything “because I’d be fine if I got it anyway.”
Again, it’s not about you.
A few weeks without sports Is better than the alternative.
Use your brains people.
Here’s a cool sunrise picture to make you feel better. ✌️

My goals.

Health isn’t hard. There are simple ways to go about being healthier. It doesn’t require a ridiculous amount of work. It doesn’t require a magic supplement, special diet, or crazy gizmo. All it takes is two key components: consistency and time. Too often I find that people are confused by the information being put out by celebrities, big-name companies, and Joe Schmo from down the street. It continues to amaze me how much bad information is out there, and how much the general public really doesn’t know about healthy behaviors. The US and Canada are not doing well in their fight against chronic disease, which has come to be known as “The Mess.”

It doesn’t stop there. The rehab and injury world is over-run with people preying on others that don’t know any better. There are products and companies sending out messages that you are broken, and only they have the key to fixing you. I completely and utterly disagree. Almost all problems can be fixed by some good information and little (or a lot) of old fashioned hard work. You just need to know when and how to properly apply the right things.

My goals with this page and my blog are to teach you the simplified how-to’s of healthy behaviors and break down the common myths in rehab/therapy. Don’t expect any magic cures or miracles for your issues. One step forward is always better than standing still, and if I can provide information the gives even one person the slightest interest in being healthier, I will consider this all a success.
