WHAT LOW ESTROGEN CAN FEEL LIKE 😅

One minute you’re patient, rational, emotionally regulated…

The next minute someone breathes too loud, asks you one more question, or the sleeve of your jacket gets caught on a doorknob and suddenly you’re reconsidering all your life choices.

Estrogen affects serotonin, dopamine, mood regulation, stress resilience, focus, sleep, memory, patience, and your nervous system’s ability to tolerate stimulation.

Which means:
• Less patience
• Bigger emotional reactions
• Feeling overstimulated faster
• Mood swings that feel “not like you”
• Rage over absolutely microscopic inconveniences

And the worst part?

A lot of women think they’re “losing it” when in reality… their hormones and nervous system are screaming for support.

This is EXACTLY why we created our upcoming 10-week perimenopause program.

Real education.
Real strategies.
Real support.

🚫 No “just drink water, exercise more, and eat less” bu****it advice.

We’re covering:
✔ Hormones
✔ Fat loss resistance
✔ Mood + brain changes
✔ Sleep + energy
✔ Strength training + nutrition
✔ Stress + nervous system support
✔ What’s ACTUALLY happening to your body during this phase

If you want on the waitlist before spots open, comment or DM us “HORMONES” and we’ll get you on the list. You can also sign up at winnipeghealthcoaching.com

P.S. Watch till the end 👀 for my favourite part… completely unplanned but perfectly on brand with perimenopause. 😂

This one simple decision can change the course of your whole day...

Most people are setting themselves up to crash by 10AM and don’t even realize it.

Bagels. Sugary cereal. Toast and jam. Donuts. Muffins.

A quick hit of carbs and sugar first thing in the morning sends your blood sugar on a rollercoaster.

You spike → crash → crave.

That “afternoon slump,” irritability, brain fog, endless snacking, and feeling like you could eat your entire kitchen by 3PM?

A lot of the time it started at breakfast, and a high protein breakfast changes the game.

Protein helps stabilize blood sugar which means:
✔️ More stable energy
✔️ Better focus and mood
✔️ Fewer cravings
✔️ Less mindless snacking
✔️ Feeling FULL longer
✔️ Better workouts and recovery
✔️ Better appetite regulation all day long

And no… this doesn’t mean you need to eat plain eggs and sadness every morning. 😂

Here are 5 high protein breakfasts we recommend all the time:

1️⃣ Eggs + turkey bacon/chicken sausage + fruit
2️⃣ Greek yogurt bowl with berries + chia
3️⃣ Protein smoothie with fruit + spinach + nut butter
4️⃣ Cottage cheese with cinnamon + flax + berries
5️⃣ Overnight oats made with protein powder + almond milk

Most women are massively under-eating protein in the morning. Then wondering why they feel exhausted, hungry, foggy, and out of control around food later in the day.

Your breakfast matters more than you think. Start your day with protein for ONE week and watch what happens to your energy, cravings, focus, and mood.

Motherhood has changed me in ways I never could’ve imagined.

Some days I feel like I can conquer the world.
Other days I feel completely overwhelmed and can barely keep my s**t together.

Let's be real, moms are carrying more than people realize.

The mental load.
The overstimulation.
The pressure.
The guilt.
Trying to take care of everyone else while quietly trying to take care of yourself too.

Being a mom is beautiful, but it's also exhausting as hell.

Especially for the moms silently navigating burnout, mental health struggles, grief, healing, financial stress, relationship stress, body image struggles, hormones, or simply trying not to lose themselves in the middle of taking care of everyone else.

You are not weak for struggling.
You are not failing because things feel heavy.
And you do not have to carry everything alone.

As a single full-time mom, motherhood has pushed me, humbled me, healed parts of me, and forced me to grow in ways nothing else ever has.

There was a time in my life I never imagined I’d get here.

And that’s why I’ll never stop reminding women that support matters.
Community matters.
Connection matters.
Being seen, understood, encouraged, and supported matters.

Moms are actual superheroes.

Not because they do it all perfectly, but because they continue showing up even when they’re exhausted.

So to every mom doing her best right now… Happy Mother’s Day. 🩷

You deserve far more recognition, support, love, rest, and care than you probably allow yourself to receive.

Today, I begin my 10th year in sobriety. 🎉

A decade ago, I couldn’t have imagined, in my wildest dreams, getting to the place I’m at today.

I tried to quit drinking and using more times than I can count. I swore “this is the last time” a million times over for nearly 15 years.

I share a glimpse of my story in this video, which took me many years to open up about after being stuck in shame and guilt for so long.

The gym remains my sanctuary, and health and fitness became a huge part of what carried me through early sobriety and what still keeps me grounded today.

But honestly, had I not found connection through a supportive women’s group in a 12-step program when I first started this journey, I truly don’t know where I’d be. I’ll forever be grateful to those women. Being surrounded by people who understood me, challenged me, encouraged me, and didn’t judge me changed everything.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned over the last decade is that sobriety doesn’t magically make life easy.

It just becomes… different.

I still struggle. I still overthink. I still have to actively practice gratitude so I don’t get trapped in my own head.

But when I stop and really look back…
at everything I’ve survived, everything I’ve built, the people I’ve helped, the life I’ve created, the little girl I get to raise…

It’s honestly incredible what can happen when someone refuses to give up on themselves.

10 years later and I’m still learning.
Still growing.
Still healing.
Still human.

You are not too far gone.
You are not weak for needing support.
And you are not broken because this feels hard.

If you’re in the thick of it right now, please don’t isolate yourself and please don’t give up.

Healing is messy. Growth is uncomfortable. Change takes longer than we want it to.

But your life can become something completely different than what it is today.

I’m living proof of that. 🩷

Trying to make a nutritious choice while your brain is craving dopamine and emotional support snacks 😭

This is one of the biggest struggles for so many women (especially at night).

The issue usually isn’t lack of knowledge.
It’s decision fatigue, stress, hormones, exhaustion, overwhelm, under-eating earlier in the day, or trying to rely on willpower at 8PM when your brain is already tapped out.

A few things that ACTUALLY help:

✔️ Don’t wait until you’re starving to eat
Skipping meals all day almost always backfires later.

✔️ Prioritize protein earlier in the day
Women who under-eat protein often crave quick dopamine foods later at night.

✔️ Make healthy options EASY
If your nutritious options require 14 steps, your brain is choosing convenience every time.

✔️ Stop aiming for perfect
Sometimes “good enough” is the win.
Protein shake. Greek yogurt. Eggs. Done.

✔️ Keep satisfying healthy snacks around
Crunch, texture, flavour, convenience… all matter.

And remember, sometimes the goal is simply making a slightly better choice instead of spiralling into “screw it.”

Even coaches have nights where nothing in the fridge looks good, and we open the fridge 14 times hoping pizza magically appears. 🍕😅
