Bordamos Without Borders Bordamos Without Borders is a Winnipeg-based art project that is part celebration of needlecraft, and part show of solidarity.

At community drop-ins events this fall, we have been stitching messages of safety and encouragement onto care packages for Latin American migrants riding the cargo trains through Mexico in search of a better life. Our goal is to complete 50 packages by this winter, which we'll fill with snacks, hygiene items, and first aid supplies to deliver to a shelter in Ixtepec, Oaxaca, Mexico. Embroidery is contemporarily being used across Mexico to promote peace, and our embroidery bees are inspired by those movements as well as the daunting stories of migrants riding "La Bestia" (the train rails crossing Mexico to the US). This group is for people who want to be kept in the loop about future Bordamos Without Borders events, including craft nights and fundraisers.
