Did you know that there is a common injury related to falls called FOOSH?
FOOSH is an acronym for "fall on an outstretched hand". It's a common injury that can affect the hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder.
How it happens:
FOOSH injuries occur when you extend your arm to break a fall, which can happen when you slip, trip, or fall during sports.
The force of the fall can travel up your arm, injuring your shoulder or elbow.
The scaphoid bone in your hand and forearm is often affected.
Symptoms Bruising on the palms of your hands, Pain, and Swelling.
Treatment:
