Kimbondo Orphanage & Hospital Someone can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone. Hence, we’ve created “Hope In Their Hands”, HITH.

Kimbondo Orphanage & Hospital provides health care, social care and medical care to economically deprived and abandoned and/or orphaned children in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. The executives of our foundation, “Hope in Their Hands” or HITH are Alina Husain (started the club and is the president), Rita Delucco (vice-president), Jennifer Ngandu (chief of human resources), Margot Deprez (director of advertisement) Winnie Zhong (chief of finances), Cybelle Kabala (vice-treasurer) and Aurore Muongo (chief of public relations and communications). We all agree upon the fact that we were each given the opportunity to live substantial lives intellectually, socially, and financially, so why not give those in need the same prospects as us. We use our capabilities to change the lives of the youth at Kimbondo Orphanage and Hospital.

We recently found out that nine-year old Jenny passed away due to a severe case of malaria. She was truly a special girl who brought out smiles and laughter in everyone around her. She was quite the character, always full of energy and dancing around in joy. We are blessed and thankful to have come across an angel. May god bless you Jenny, the memories we share with you will never be forgotten and you’ll forever be in our hearts.

Hey guys!
Some of the kids (older ones, 10-13) of the orphanage are coming to TASOK this saturday!
I know we are on break but I think it will be very nice if you could volunteer for the day, or at least for one shift. They are coming at 9 a.m and leaving at 4 pm. Mr Carroll does not have an official list of the shift but roughly, they will play from 9 to 10, then from 10 to 11 they will be doing art in the HS art classroom, next is lunch from 11 to 12, then they will be in the elementary computer lab, but after that I do not really know.
Please make an effort to at least participate in one shift!
Remember: "It is when you give of yourself that you truly give."

Kimbondo Orphanage Visit to Tasok

- This saturday, some kids will be coming to TASOK so come and help by taking a shift or stayng the whole day ;)

9:00-10:00 KHAN (Dr Charbonneau’s wife): Classroom activities – Elementary area

10:00-11:00 MAGGIE: Art

11:00-1:00 NICK: Lunch and play (Everyone welcome) Elementary Playground/Area

1:00-2:00 ANDREW, AUTUMN, JASEN, and MEGAN: Activities/Games

2:00-3:00 DUSTIN: Computers

3:00-4:00 NICK: Play (everyone welcome) Elementary Playground/area

4:00 pm return to Kimbondo

We will be based in the elementary cafeteria. Any food/drink you wish to share/donate please bring to the El Café.
