Coming Out of the Closet 💕
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful 🎶🌈
A lot of people use the term "coming out" to refer to the process of telling someone else how they identify in terms of their romantic orientation, sexual orientation, or gender identity. However, in the developmental histories of gay men and women, periods of difficulty in acknowledging their homosexuality, either to themselves or to others, are often reported.
Coming out can be a very difficult process. Our society strongly enforces codes of behavior regarding sexual orientation and gender identity, and most people receive the message that they must be heterosexual and act according to society’s definition of their gender. For gay, le***an, and bisexual persons, there may be a sense of being different or of not fitting in to the roles expected of you by your family, friends, workplace, or greater society. Coming out involves facing societal responses and attitudes toward LGBTQ people. You may feel ashamed, isolated, and afraid.
Our world is full of hypocrites, and that’s reality. Majority members LGBTQ Community are having a hard time coming out of their closet, afraid at the thought of being judged by our society.
Children who grow up to be gay rarely receive family support in dealing with anti-homosexual prejudices. On the contrary, beginning in childhood and distinguishing them from racial and ethnic minorities, gay people are often subjected to the anti-homosexual attitudes of their own families and communities.
“Personally, coming out was one of the most important things I’ve ever done, lifting from my shoulders the millstone of lies that I hadn’t even realised I was carrying.” —Sir Ian McKellen
