The annual Holsworthy carnival window dressing competition was won by Floral Designs this year. In second place was The Card Kabin, and Holsworthy Emporium was third. Highly Commended went to North Devon Hospice Shop, The Hat Shop, and Yarns of Holsworthy.
Holsworthy carnival committee and Holsworthy & District Lions would like to thank everybody that took part this year.

There are 2 cars parked on the road at the industrial estate. This is where the floats, lorries etc line up for tonight's carnival prior to the procession starting. We would like these cars moved as soon as possible please. If you know who owns them, please contact the owner for us. Thank you.

Notice to people participating in Holsworthy Carnival

If you are attending tonight's Carnival with a float, lorry, vintage tractor etc, please note that access to the industrial estate will only be via Dobbles Lane (ie, past Holsworthy hospital). The other way in (ie, past the cattle market) is closed.

Road Closures 2023

HOLSWORTHY CARNIVAL ROAD CLOSURES – 18 NOVEMBER 2023

The official times of the road closures are as follows:

Roads affected –

THE SQUARE. Between the hours of 16:00 and 23:59

RIVER TAMAR WAY, DOBLES LANE, A388 NORTH ROAD, A388 FORE STREET, BODMIN STREET, CROFT ROAD, VICTORIA STREET, VICTORIA HILL, WESTERN ROAD, SANDERS LANE. Between the hours of 18:00 and 22:00

The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via –

A388 DIVERSION – HOLSWORTHY BEACON, C493 TO ANVIL CORNER, A3072 TO COLES MILL

A3072 DIVERSION – COLES MILL, UNDERLANE, DERRITON, PYWORTHY, DERRIL, C520 TO HOLSWORTHY GOLF CLUB

This temporary restriction is considered necessary to enable –

HOLSWORTHY CARNIVAL

However, it is our intention to open the roads as soon as possible after the parade has passed through and we do not anticipate all the roads being closed for all of that time. The exception will be The Square which will definitely be closed between 4pm and 10pm.
