Meditationworks

Meditationworks Private and group classes of meditation and yoga. As science develops we become more informed of how precious, timeless and universal these teachings are.

In the hectic, fast-paced, digital age we spend many hours in the same sitting position with eyes fixed on our screens. Our bodies’ genetics are not ready for this and it results in complications: aches, pains and injuries that can lessen our full enjoyment of life. We propose to help and guide you to improve your well-being through greater body mobility, experience of inner joy, peace and mental clarity in daily life. To achieve this, we have carefully integrated a range of yoga and meditation practices to increase mental clarity, focus, increase resilience to stress and enhance natural body function and recovery. Our program adapts and offers the valuable wisdom of the ancient teachings of the Tradition of the Himalayan Masters, as interpreted by Swami Rama and Swami Veda Bharati to our modern life. They help us becoming more aware of our body’s posture, habits and life’s attitudes. They show us how to better integrate body, breath and mind improving our health, concentration and presence. In private or in office context, our yoga and meditation classes empower you to approach your health by taking a step back and reflecting upon the discomfort symptoms experienced. Over this foundation, we support and motivate you to establish your own yoga and/or meditation routine so that you can fully integrate the practice in your life.

Do you feel it? You may feel more excited, depressed, or happy than on other days. Tomorrow is a full moon, and just as the moon affects the ocean and its tides, so does it effect our emotions. So, if you're experiencing extreme feelings today or tomorrow, don't take it personally. Practice equanimity. Take some minutes to relax and focus your attention on your breath. It will help balance your emotions. Tomorrow there is full moon meditation at 20:00-21:00 (CET). You are invited to sit in meditation wherever you are, in your home or with friends. If you cannot sit for the entire hour, sit as long as you are able. Let the mind settle into silence and the quietness of the mind continue even after you rise.

True freedom is taking decisions based on a deep self-understanding. Otherwise, you are just parroting what you heard and saw at home, in TV, in school, at the office, or in your social media feed.

I spent so many years in school and university. Today I tell my friends and family, don’t go to school. Take your time, learn who you are first.

There is a widely held belief that our own views are the most certain and wise ones, however, look at the products of our society's current governance.

* Toddlers and children are numbed at restaurant tables with tablets and mobile phones,
* Parents overwork to pay for useless things, such as assurances and expensive holidays.
* Grandparents are put into care homes alone and/or away from grandchildren.
* While our attention is wrongly put into how many CO2 emissions the cows are making, our planet is continuously ravaged for resources to build more electric cars, home appliances, and more stuff.

All because of our disconnection from who we are. When we are truly centered and aware, we realize that :
* Holidays are just needed because we need to decompress from a highly stressful and disconnected life. Our lives could feel like we are always on vacation.
* Joy exists in taking the time for playfulness at home, in a park around the corner… ie everywhere.
* Love exists in a sincere hug or smile
* Peace is a quiet mind

There is so much beauty in life! Today, as I was rushing from one appointment to another, I saw something that caught my attention.

Something gentle, red, soft, and apparently wild was standing on the side of the road.

As the bees and other flying insects were busy appreciating its other qualities, my mind stopped in wonder and appreciation for the beauty of life.

Thank you for your beauty!

This is True friendship!

Who is a true friend?

The Buddha called himself everyone’s kalyāna-mitra, noble friend, a friend on the noble path. He encouraged his disciples and followers to be kalyāna-mitra to each other. As a good friend seeing his friend about to slip on a banana peel, warns him, holds him back, and helps him lift up if the friend has already fallen, so does a co-disciple expresses his/her affection towards a co-traveller on the path. S/he reminds the friend not to get lost, not to waver, not to slip but to remain steadfast.

Such a friendship is not a short time game of fun and frolic. It is a part of our karmically established connections. Once a soul-mind jumps into it, it must continue for many lifetimes.
