ABOUT NAMAKA
Namaka is the sea goddess or water spirit in the Hawaiian Mythology. She cooled her sister goddess Pele's lava as it flowed into the sea, turning it into new land. It perfectly embodies our mission - the relaxing effect of water that cools down fiery stress. This epic godly fight between fire and water represents our inner duality. The unification of these fundamental elements allows for the creation of a new land, a new you, at ease and full of opportunity.
Namaka also means salt in Hindi which is our main magic ingredient. Salt not only allows to float weightlessly in zero gravity, but the magnesium releases the muscle tension and replenishes the skin.

Floating is for everyone. Who created it?
Floating was created by neuroscientist Dr. John C. Lilly 60 years ago while he was doing research on brain waves and altered states of consciousness.
Do we have scientific proof it works?
Floating therapy has been academically studied in the USA and in Sweden with published results showing reduction of both pain and stress. At the moment there have been 90+ studies done on the benefits of floating.
What is a floating pool or pod?
The floating pool or pod looks like a large bathtub. They are usually installed in an individual room designed to block out all external stimuli - sight, sound, touch and gravity. Namaka is offering both, a pool or a pod experience , the difference between a floating pool and pod is that the pod can be closed/opened by the guest.
How does it work?
The water, about 25cm deep, is saturated with 500kg of Epsom and is at body temperature. This creates an environment similar to that of the Dead Sea, letting you float effortlessly and enjoy a feeling of weightlessness! Once you are settled, you will feel you are floating in the air.
HEALTH BENEFITS
The reduced stimulation encountered by floating refocuses your attention to internal stimuli. At first this includes the novel sensations of floating effortlessly in darkness and quiet. The sensations of the body become more salient, making the floating pod/pool a walk-in biofeedback device.
This natural biofeedback initiates a self-regulation process that encourages relaxation. This relaxation is augmented by the full body absorption of magnesium that elicits the release of muscle tension.
