WOW, I can’t believe it was a year ago when I competed at North Americans. I barely managed to place 5th in Masters 45 and over. I did poorly in all my other classes and actually came in dead last in open class E. Was I devastated? Of course. I had been on prep for 9 months and I expected better results.

While still backstage licking my wounds, my coach and teammate encouraged me to push a little harder and prep for the Amateur Olympia….WHAT??!! I decided right then and there that I was up to the task. I got feedback from the judges and went to work. The support from coach and my husband was incredible!

After 12 weeks, not only did I come in 1st place overall in the Masters category but I placed 1st in open class E!! I went on to place top 3 overall to EARN my pro card…on the biggest amateur bodybuilding stage at the Olympia!!

This is for that lady or gentleman who may have competed this last week at North Americans and missed out on that pro card. Dig deep and keep pushing. You shall reap in due season if you faint not!!

says “You do what you must!!” I must be healthy!! I must keep in good shape!!” I must meal prep!!” Plus my coach would kill me if I got fat, LOL.
But seriously…. even though I’m in my off season, I’m a volleyball mom, I’m working full time as a hospital pharmacist AND I’m getting my dietetics internship hours on my off days, I still find the time for gym dates with my husband AND to meal prep. You find time for what’s important. Time management, willpower and discipline is available to ALL!!! It’s YOUR choice if you want to make excuses or be lazy….that’s ON YOU!!!

Ephesians 3:20!

To God be the Glory!! What an incredible week at the . I started my fitness journey about 13 years ago as a divorced, single mother of 2, working full time as a hospital pharmacist, to lose my baby pooch and gain energy to play with my young kids. I never could have imagined that I would become an IFBB Pro, let alone do it from the Olympia stage, AAHHH!!!

SO many people were instrumental on getting me here. Starting with my amazing (…and super handsome actor/model) husband
who gifted me a custom-made shirt that said “in training to become Ms. Olympia” He planted that seed and here we are!! I love you Alfonso and I appreciate your support and for being my training partner!!

Thank you for pushing me and constantly challenging my boundaries. Your knowledge and expertise are unmatched. You are not only my coach and mentor but you are one of classiest IFBB Pros I know. Thank you for taking me under your wing!!

So now that the dust is starting to settle, reality is starting to kick in. I won the figure Masters division out of 26 amazing ladies!! I also won my open class and went on to place top 3 overall to EARN my pro card!!! I am truly humbled and grateful!!! GOD IS FAITHFUL!!!

I had the honor of meeting the great Ms. Lenda Murray!! My coach had introduced my husband to her earlier this week and she was so gracious to grant him an interview. She’s so down-to-earth and very classy. She took the time to congratulate me and to welcome me to the IFBB Pro league. Ms. Lenda is such an icon and she has paved the way for female bodybuilding as we know it. She’s such an inspiration and I admire her strength, classiness, and elegance. What an honor!!!

Yesterday was my wedding anniversary. So today, I not only get to celebrate my anniversary with my amazing and supportive husband but I also get to celebrate becoming an IFBB Figure Pro!!!!
