Around the world, ONE person is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s every 3 secs and it has no cure!
Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common cause of Dementia. Symptoms include severe memory loss that lead to death few years after onset.
It is difficult to diagnose and, in fact, often undiagnosed. Studies indicate that early diagnosis could enable early interventions potentially delaying or preventing the progression of the disease.
78 million dementia cases projected in 2030 and 139 million in 2050. Classified as an epidemic by the . Countries will spend US$ 13 Trillion treating dementia related disorders.

Dr. Caroline Lustenberger, Sleep Researcher and Scientist leader of the Gender Equality Forum of the European Sleep Researcher Society (ESRS).
Together with Professor Rafael Polania from the are co-heading the EARDREAM project which aims for an Early Detection of the Alzheimer’s Disease before symptoms arise.

Projected number of cases by 2030 is 74mill and by 2050 is 131mill
Countries will spend +70 Billion US$ treating a disease that has no cure. Affecting higher prevalence in women.
Symptoms include severe memory loss that rapidly progresses leading to death few years onset

Announcing my collaboration with the ‘Decision Neuroscience Lab’ at the ETH Zurich to develop a tech project of novel neurobehavioral biomarkers for early detection, prevention and prediction of the Alzheimer’s Disease.
It is the most common cause of dementia. Symptoms include severe memory loss that rapidly progresses, leading to death after few years. So far it has no cure and it is difficult to diagnose.
Early detection means early interventions to improve forthcoming symptoms which translates to less costs for the healthcare system and the wellbeing of the patient and their families.
If you want to know more about this important and impactful project, happy to introduce you to Neuroscience Assistant Professor Dr. Rafael Polania and scientist and Chairwoman of the European Sleep Society Gender Equality Forum Dr.Caroline Lustenberger (also manager of the EARDREAM project).
