What is it about? In the CAYoga practice we strive for freedom in movement. This creates positive feelings in the body: lightness, openness and sensitivity. CAYoga shows how we can break unfavorable movement and thought patterns. In addition, we gain mobility in the joints, build strength, optimize our alignment and can thus experience maximum relaxation in movement as well as in a state of rest.

☀️😎 as summer / before holidays - series, I offer a series of 4 Monday-classes online:

1) upper spine & neck
2) lower back & legs
3) upper spine & shoulders/arms
4) lower back / abdominals (core)- pelvis & middle back

✨The series is focusing on connections and integrating healthy movement patterns into daily life. It is meant to dig deeper into the questions what is tension and what is pain? And to support you in guiding yourself through blockades in order to enable yourself to develop sustainable-healthy movement patterns. Those are applicable in daily movements as well as in dance, sports, martial arts or whatever complex movement sequences.

✨The series is built up by the CAYoga principal of relaxation - mobilization & coordination - strength. You can easily repeat one or several exercise(s) during your week (f.e. 5-10min a day / 15min 3 x a week), in order to settle the patterns in body & mind.

Worum geht’s? Mit dem praktizieren von CAYoga streben wir nach Freiheit in Bewegung. Diese kreiert positive Gefühle im Körper: Leichtigkeit, Offenheit und Empfindsamkeit. Im täglichen Leben sind wir oft eingeschränkt in unserer Bewegungsfreiheit. Dies führt zu reduziertem Körperbewusstsein, der Körper wird mit der Zeit weniger empfänglich für positive Gefühle. Das ist der Grund warum wir stets mehr auf das Denken vertrauen. Gefühle, die direkt mit dem Körper erfahren werden sollten, werden reduziert auf mentale Prozesse; wir erfahren Gefühle in unserem Kopf statt mit unserem Körper. CAYoga zeigt auf wir wir dieses Muster durchbrechen können und Gefühle wieder verkörpert werden. Critical Alignment Yoga is a practice that aims to reveal areas of stress and tension in our body. The exercises mobilise the spine, release muscular tension and restore our innate mobility and strength. Andrea studied CAY with its founder Gert van Leeuwen in Amsterdam (criticalalignment.nl) and is the 1st certified CAY-teacher in Switzerland. The CAY practice aims to reveal areas of stress and tension in our body. The exercises mobilise the spine, release muscular tension and restore our innate mobility and strength. By working through stiff areas, you are facing not only your habitual patterns and physical structure, but also the way in which you interact with yourself and the world around you. Becoming conscious about these patterns opens up a path to release blockages and emotions, that no longer suit you. The results is a feeling of relieve, lightness and spaciousness in the body and the mind; a feeling of being totally at ease, both in yoga and in live.

Is CAY for you? Critical Alignment Yoga is accessible to every ‘body’. It can help someone who is suffering from back-related pain and discomfort, it can help beginners who want to start practicing yoga in a safe way, and it can help advanced practitioners who want to deepen their yoga, dance or sports practice. Offered in a safe, restorative atmosphere, the CAY practice incites curiosity about the body, its anatomy and functionality and helps to develop healthy movement patterns. Andrea is teaching a CAY - group class HAPPY SPINE on WED 18:00-19:15 (starting 5 of Aug. 2020) @YogaTribe, *K3 Rüdigerstr. 17, 8045 Zürich In this class we tackle stress on a physical and mental level. You learn how to use the CAY - tools for relaxation of the action muscles and strengthening the postural muscles. For mobilisation and coordination of the spine in order to strengthen and reenergize the whole body and mind. Through practicing asanas we face our ambitions, tensions, stress, pain and compressions. This process of awareness is crucial to (re)experience space and lightness in the body and mind to get to a total free and powerful movement. CAY supports you in approaching the asanas and any kind of training with self-respect and empathy. We work with anatomical visualisation (bones, joints, muscles) and sensory images in order to isolate body parts and experience their functionality in the skeleton-structure. You learn to understand and to guide yourself through the sensations you can experience while practicing and how to use them to break through habits and rebuild coordination and strength. Every class has a specific topic in the focus f.e. ‘dynamic lower back’, ‘happy hips’, ‘flexibility and strength in the upper back’ and unrolls form there warm-up exercises and a series of asanas.
