Let's Play...

The images are AI, but that's not the only fishy thing about these pictures. They're all fake in several ways, but what gave it away?

1: In the first picture, is it the baby's foot that seems to be angled in a completely unnatural way? Even if you didn't spot that, the fact that Baby looks to be a few weeks old at most and mom has toned abs, looks well-rested and her house is tidy should be a dead giveaway.

2: Ah yes, cooking a nice homemade, healthy meal in the kitchen with your partner. Never mind the fact that the pan is not actually on a stove nor does it seem to have anything in it, or that mom seems to have one finger too many - who actually has time to cook together (happily!) postpartum??

3: What jumped out at you first? Was it the three-fingered baby hands or perhaps the more glaring sign that this mom has two young babies on her lap, looks totally put together and has had time to put each of her baby's toes into their proper slot in some sort of weird toe-tights? And of course neither of them are putting their hands into her scalding hot coffee.

4: Upon close inspection the baby on the floor seems to have had her face melted into her hand and perhaps an extra foot added on for good measure. AI mistakes aside, though, this mom is somehow in a magical place where her house is tidy, the sun is shining, and she is enjoying a book while her three children play peacefully (without making a mess of course) and the fourth sleeps quietly on the floor next to them.

Games aside, let's be real - postpartum has beautiful, cuddly moments that fill your heart and bring you closer together as partners. But it's also messy. It's not knowing when you showered last, staying in your sweat pants all day, letting the household chores slide, and walking around with your b**b out without noticing.

And that's okay. That's reality.

You'll get around to reading a book again, cooking a meal with your partner, or watching your kids play peacefully while you drink your coffee while it's still hot.

Until then, hang in there, Mama.

The mental load hits differently when the weather turns cold 🧣

Does everyone still have a jacket that fits?
Do we have enough gloves?
What’s for dinner? Do the kids still like carrots this week? (Mine change their minds every seven days it seems 🙃)
Did I ever text her back after I got distracted with the kids?

If your brain feels like a browser with too many tabs open, you’re not alone. This season brings cozy moments - and a lot of invisible work for moms.

Take a deep breath. Maybe figure out how to close one tab today - the rest can wait ❤️

“Can we be friends?”

Sometimes those four little words take more courage than we realize. Motherhood wasn’t meant to be done alone - we all need people who get it, who show up when it’s messy, and who remind us we’re doing enough.

If you’ve been craving that kind of connection, the LilyBee Village was created for you. It’s a space to meet other moms, share honestly, learn together, and feel part of something bigger.

Because it takes bravery to reach out - but the reward is a community that holds you right back. 💛

This is a story of hope, empowerment, and the possibility of a healthier world, starting with the very first chapter of life.

Interivew with an Instructor:
Lui is a medically trained doctor who firmly believes that true health begins with knowledge, prevention, and personal responsibility. She enjoys cooking, eating with joy, and understands how important movement is for her well-being – even if it doesn’t always come easily. She brings this personal understanding of health, combined with many years of medical experience, into all of her courses – with heart and joy.

❓ What's your name?
💬 Luitgard Holzleg (but please call me Lui)

❓ What do you teach at LilyBee?
💬 First aid courses for parents, parents-to-be, grandparents, professional childcare providers and anyone working with or caring for babies and children

❓Where are you from?
💬 I am German, but lived in Sweden, UK, India South Africa, the US and for the last 20 years the second time in Switzerland

❓If you didn't have the profession you currently have, what would you want to be?
💬 I am very lucky to have chosen my dream profession: becoming a doctor (it wasn’t my first choice growing up but while working as a nurse, I learnt where I want to go).

❓If you could make one new law that everyone had to follow, what would it be?
💬 Not a law I wish we had but rather a question: why is parenting the only profession, no one needs to be qualified for?

❓Where would you like to travel that you haven't been yet?
💬 My husband and I would like to cycle in Montenegro. We had planned this in 2020 but then COVID hit and we have not been able to do since.

Lui's CPR classes fill up quickly, so make sure you sign up soon. Most parents prefer doing the class while still pregnant, but many also take the class when baby has already arrived and do it on different days so that both parents are informed. Pre-crawlers can also come along to the class - there are nursing pillows, a changing table, and a comfy area to breastfeed/pump.
